Hey guys, im getting bored with dealing with driving around an old car all the time and i think its time to upgrade to something new. I am looking for something that handles sweet, a good platform to upgrade while still being decently fast stock (boost is always a plus :) ), and something that wont break the bank. Im really looking to spend no more then say $2-3k and this car would become my daily driver, so gas mileage and reliablity are pretty important. Also... not a big fan of fwd and whatever I get must be manual, so... what are your suggestions?

1G DSM, Oh wait you said something that won't break the bank and is a DD:wink: Everything else would work out for you:thumbup:

Could try to find a halfway decent VW MK3 VR6 Jetta or GTi, or also look at some older Hondas. Another suggestion is to up the price range a bit, which opens up to a lot more cars.

He said not a big fan of fwd so the only thing I can think of is an older 240sx

The 240 isnt a bad idea, I was kinda leaning that way as well.

Just shop carefully when looking at the 240's I've had a few and they all had their own unique problems lol. There are nicely taken care of ones out there but you have to be picky and willing to spend the money.

An E30 Bmw might be up your alley, if you can find a decent one that doesn't need work have a gazillion miles on it. This might be an oddball but an older Volvo with a manual might be up your alley since they are rwd and mostly bulletproof. They can be a little hard to find with a stick though.
