New Tyler State Park Meet - Newtown, PA - August 7th, 2005

Where:Tyler State Park in Newtown, PA
Date: Sunday August 7th
Time:12 noon until 5ish (or sundown)
Cost:$5 per car, to cover permit fees

I have reserved the Hickory Nut Picnic Area at Tyler State Park for the entire day of Sunday August 7th, 2005. This is the same area that the meet was earlier in the year. This time the bathrooms will be open for use, thank God.
This picnic area and parking lot is gated and will allow us to have an entire area to ourselves in order to park all together and hang out and grill or whatever we want to do. There is a permit fee involved in this and as a result I am asking $5 per car to cover those costs.
Also note that the rangers in the park have full police power and actively moniter the speed at which cars are travelling within the park. Your behavior at the meet represents the group as a whole, and stupidity will not be tolerated. There is also NO ALCOHOL allowed in the park.
Bring food to throw on the grills, bring a frisbee or a soccerball, and hopefully the weather will be nice...
There were 60-70 cars at the last one, and lots of food being passed around... the weather was great and it was a really good time. I'm expecting that this meet will be equally enjoyable, but a good amount larger.

DIRECTIONS
From the South: Take I-95 North to the Newtown/Yardley Exit #49. Make a left at the light at the top of the ramp onto Route 332/Newtown Bypass. Go down about 4 miles (7-8 lights) and you will see Tyler Rd. and the park entrance on your left. Take Tyler Rd. down about a half mile or so until you come to a stop sign. Make a right at the stop sign and follow that road around about 3/4 mile until you see an entrance to Hickory Nut Picnic Area on your left. There should be a sign saying it is reserved for TriStateTuners.com. Enter.

reading the other thread there were a lot of 'both work for me' and also a good amt of 'i cant go july 17 but i can go aug 7' i figured july was winning just because it was closer, and it also conflicts with a few other events in the area. unfortunately there is no single day that everyone can make it. there will be another meet like this for sure though...

a pet may keep the pet in a State park only in accordance with subsections (b)--(d)
and only under the following conditions:
(1) It is on a leash or is in a cage or crate. If a maximum length of leash is
specified by posting, the leash may not exceed the length specified.
(2) It is attended and under physical control of an individual.
(3) It does not behave in a manner that may reasonably be expected to disturb
or intimidate another person.
(4) It does not behave in a manner that may cause damage to property or
resources.
(5) Its droppings are disposed of in trash receptacles or outside the park.
(6) It has been licensed and vaccinated as required by law.
(b) A pet is not permitted in a designated swimming area.
(c) A pet is not permitted in an overnight area unless the area is designated by
the Department for pets.
(d) A pet is not permitted in a building.
(e) Subsection (a)(1)--(5) does not apply to a dog being used by a person
engaged in hunting or training as provided in § 11.215 (relating to weapons and
hunting).
(f) Subsections (b), (c) and (d) do not apply to a guide dog, signal dog or other
animal which has been trained to assist, and is accompanying, a person with a
disability.

The following activities are prohibited without written permission of the
Department:
(1) Hunting, pursuing or intentionally disturbing woodchucks, also known as
groundhogs. Paragraph (2) does not apply to this activity.
(2) Hunting, pursuing or intentionally disturbing wildlife unless:
(i) The person engaging in the activity is licensed by the Game Commission to
hunt and is engaged in hunting in accordance with the Game and Wildlife Code.
(ii) The activity takes place in an area designated by the Department for
hunting. At Presque Isle State Park, waterfowl hunting may take place only from
a facility designated by the Department as a waterfowl blind, and shooting shall
be directed away from State park land and over the adjacent waters.
(iii) The activity takes place during hunting season as established by the Game
Commission.
(iv) The firearm, archery equipment or other device used for this activity is
lawful for hunting under the Game and Wildlife Code. A device operated by air,
chemical or gas cylinder by which a projectile can be discharged or propelled is
not lawful for hunting under the Game and Wildlife Code.
(3) Using a device, including a firearm, archery equipment or slingshot, that is
capable of discharging or propelling a projectile, except as provided in paragraph
(2) or (7).
(4) Possessing an uncased device, or uncasing a device, including a firearm,
archery equipment or slingshot, that is capable of discharging or propelling a
projectile, except as provided in paragraph (2) or (7), or except in the owner's
building on a leased campsite, in the owner's residence, or in the owner's vehicle
or trailer.
(5) Failing to keep a device, including a firearm, archery equipment or
slingshot, that is capable of discharging or propelling a projectile, in the owner's
building on a leased campsite, in the owner's residence or in the owner's vehicle
or trailer. This prohibition does not apply to either of the following:

Good cars (i love that blue wagon), great job to the people cooking, everyone seemed happy to be there, and I talked to lots of different people. Thanks to those who put it together and made it a good time, hopefully the rest of the day went smoothly and all.
