That swingarm extension doesnt look too strong, and why did you stretch your 636, that bikes made to turn! Anyhow it should make for a great launch.

rear tire burning because its a street tire hahah hopefully it hooks decent. i need a new tire anyway and was gunna get a shinko.
ide love to still get a pic of it hovering out a 2inch wheelie with the extensions though i think that would look awesome.
1.6's on street rubber here i come

The extension makes the bike look great. Does it handle as well?
denmah

oh yeah it rides and handles great, not as good as stock, increasing the wheelbase slows turn in speed, and lowering the bike limits how far you can lean before the hard parts hit but i can scoot around and scrape my feet thru turns no problem.
i dont know why people always make such a big deal about lowered and stretched bikes, they act like its like driving an 18 wheeler.
honestly with the lower center of gravity and long wheelbase the bike feels amazingly stable, more so than stock obviously.

Nice....Me and ZeriousTT rode about a 140 miles today in 37 degree weather. We hit some patches of snow as well.

I always wondered why...now I get it.
When are you going back to the track for some more times?

That makes the bike look serious. Does this effect your cornering though?

did you read my post above?
it does make turn in slower, it doesnt hurt your cornering ability, lowering the bike does because it takes away your ground clearance, bikes like a high center of gravity and lots of ground clearance, that = more angle to lean.
when you lower the bike you hit the pegs and hard parts sooner than stock height.
don't get me wrong, you can still push this thing around pretty spiritedly, ill get to really test it when it gets warmer.

I think it looks cool, anyhow extended swingarms are more designed for 1000's laying down 150-165 rwhp. Ive been riding for a while, my 06 gsxr 600 will run low 10's with the stock wheelbase. Its all about the rider, and if you can lay out low 10's and still shred a tight corner, thats the way to go. But thats just my .02 cents.

once the spray is on, i should be putting out 140-150rwhp

does that extension give you any ral benefits
that bike isnt gonna handle for $hit now. drag bikes lower the front and rear. road race bikes raise the back of the bike and drop the front about 2mm. . if your that much into drag racing you might wanna think about getting a ZX10r or something bigger IMO. any newer 600 can run low 10s with the right rider. i dont know many people who can do it though. i could probably only hit mid 10s on my 750 if im lucky. ill find out in a few weeks. anyway good luck with your bike and your quest for 9s.

I personally would not do it on a 6, but different strokes for different folks..There is a guy down here that street races his 06 636 and takes out some literbikes and busa's with the same kind of setup, but that is mostly relying on driver skill and quicker reaction then his oponnent..The bike looks pretty sweet and should be alot of fun at the track, the swingarm will def. come in handy after the NAWZ..Let me know if you ever want to come to atco and run it, it way more fun then racing at island or the grove when you have a bike..

who the **** cares if he rides in jeans and sneakers anyway. how about you come ride with us in your full leather suit and ill bust your a$$ in a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. i hate people who bitch about what other people wear on bikes. ive gone down a couple of times going pretty fucing fast wearing only a jacket, gloves, and a helmet. i've got up everytime and walked away.

A Jacket gloves and a helmet are going to give you pretty good protection.
Matt Miladin in his underoos would make me look stupid. Does that mean you'll catch me on the street in anything but full gear? Hell no. You guys that ride know the chances we take. It would take days to think of all the times some moron has almost taken me out. In the instance when I go down, I may have every bone in my body broke but i won't have any rash.
Matt when you want to get together for your bikes shoot?

ha... this thread is funny, hopefully nobody is getting too worked up over it. his bike, his mods. but maybe some non-bike guys dont understand the benefits of extending... and they're wondering if its just for looks or whatever... its a mix of guys on here so gotta talk slowly and clearly for some of us

I'm glad you got up everytime going "pretty fucing fast." I'd hate to see any rider get seriously injured. Matt when you want to get together for your bikes shoot?I'm glad someone can add a response to my criticism with some intelligence. I, also, on the street wear just jeans and a back protector when it's hot. I'm just commenting on the fact that he's riding in light snow (read = wet road surfaces) with sub-par gear. Yea, and I was an asshat on the extended swingarm comment, but, I just hate seeing a mid-weight sport bike get s/a'ed. Just kills my heart.

wow, you must be one badass rider. why dont you come see my sit down wheelies. i also ride motocross, you can try your luck at that against me too. ill bring out all my two wheeled machines. how about it??

Jeans and sneaks/Boots and a Leather jacket gloves and a Lid is what I wear...Its comfortable and easier to oride in than Full leathers IMO...Icon makes Riding jeans with kevlar reinforced knees and ass pockets If i recall correctly...
Who cares what he does, It's his bike...And he plans on spraying it therefore he kind of wants the rear tire to hook and not make for a nice smokeshow at the track...But why would someone EVER do something to a bike to enhance handling and traction, 600 or not.
