So I picked up this talon yesterday, it's going to need some work and tlc, but it'll make a good DD when I'm done. The Eclipse is my real "project" car. I've had it for about a year, during which time I've purchased and stored a bunch of parts just waiting for the car to get painted. Right now the eclipse has just come back from paint. I'm waiting for the block and head get back from the machine shop to start putting it back together. I'll list all the parts for each of them later, but for now, enjoy the pics.

And yes, they're both AWD, turbo, and manual transmission

Nice cars. Especially the Talon

Can't wait til everything is done and ready... you're definitely going to have to give me a ride around in the Talon after you get her up and running like a champ again. And then maybe even the GSX

Yeah, not a problem. The talon should be done within the next month. The hoods already in the trash along with the intercooler piping and the 1g exhaust manifold, soon the bumper and center tail light section will be as well.

thanks scuba, I'm really pushing to try and have the talon running/tuned/painted and being driving by the middle of May. Still waiting on the block and head to get back from the machine shop, so I can get started on the blue lightning smurf-mobile.Don't you have finals soon? Are you working at the shop over the summer? I gotta talk to josh about this summer. Im planning on working at the shop and for my dads business since I got a little project to finance now. As long as josh will take me back I'll definitly be at the shop, been away too long.

I never lost that bet! Just because I got tossed to to the curb doesnt mean I lost. No one ever cheated. Im calling it a draw!

F/I of course. I'm looking at arias 8.8:1 pistons/eagle rods, clevite bearings, arp head studs, cometic head gasket... etc. I'm caught between the t3/t04e .63 a/r and the gt32.

Once the motor is just about finished I'll be picking up the chassis. I'd prefer a s14 kouki but will most likely get a zenki because of the price difference. Not really feeling the s13's.

Just a quick update on the talon:

short route intercooler piping ran, jmf spark plug cover, one of the first JMF 2G small battery boxes.. new strut tower bars and a few other things I'm forgeting. I'm waiting on a new JMF coolant can, the egt needs rewelded, rewiring, and then it should start.
When the owner sold me the car, he said he thought the clutch master cynlinder was bad... After taking a closer look, it ended up being that half of the slave cynlinder is missing, and the bottom of the shift fork is missing. Luckily I have another transmission that I'm going to swap in. Here's a couple pics of the engine bay and intercooler piping:

Do you know how many miles on the 6bolt? the seller said 45k. Do you know if it's stock internals or not? When I replaced the valve cover, the head looked clean, is it newer?

I kind of figured it was beat on some when I saw the bottom the the shift fork broken off. - nothing that can't be fixed though.

um i dont know how many owners this car has gone through once he sold it, i know of atleast one other guy that owned it after he did and what he did with it after that i dont know. if nobody changed the motor after he sold it then i would have to say that it has more miles then 45k. he swapped the motor outta his wrecked car and put it in the talon.

I'm pretty sure he sold it to the guy I bought it from because there was only like a hundred miles difference between when he sold it and I bought it. Do you know anything about the internals of the block-stock or aftermarket? Thanks.

the block came back from the machine shop yesterday for the eclipse. Eagle Rods w/ Wiseco Pistons, now I'm just waiting on the head before I start assembly.

a local guy is coming out to tint the talon on Wednesday, Yippee. I had to buy a new front O2 sensor today. Hopefully I'll have it installed in the next few days, and actually have the final tuning done so I can drive it, well first I have to get it inspected, but not a big deal.

Oh and I decided to change the color of the talon wheels. I got the first two done today, let me know what you think.
