Bought the car 1/3/2004 to get out of a 1999 Ford Contour. Have never been happier!

Here she was Stock....

Painted the interior to match the Seat Inserts.....

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c218/audiostank/interior.jpg

Added a mail order tune and a Custom 2.25" Magnaflow Cat Back.....

Decided to put in some projectors and a badgeless/non turn signal grille....

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c218/audiostank/EvilFocusEyes.jpg

Added a Highflow Cat for more performance and sound....wound up being too much sound lol

Decided to take a small step into forced induction world. Added the smallest Forced induction kit for the car, Jackson Racing Supercharger and Ford Racing Big boost kit. Wish I had more money, but at least I have something under the hood.

Halos started to suck, took them back out for stock look and added some 16 Spoke SVT rims.

Now I just need to do a nice suspension upgrade and I will be happy.

EDIT 4/24/2007 - Just bought Factory HIDs today. Should be installed next week!!!

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c218/audiostank/HIDs/Hids.jpg

5/1/2007 - Finally Got them installed! I also ordered the European Updated Grille. The combo cleans it up tremendously!

Out with the old!

In with the NEW!

UPDATE: Recently Dynoed 7/13/2007

Poor numbers due to heat. Being nonintercooled and using the Ford Racing tune still has me at a disadvantage. Since the IAT sensor is pre supercharger to make it carb legal, Ford Racing's tune pulls a ton of timing and dumps a lot of fuel to keep the engine safe. Custom tuning is desparately needed. I am down about 20-30whp and another 15ft.-ibs of torque. Air Fuel Mix was pig rich. 10.9:1 A/F from 3800 RPMs to redline on the last run!

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c218/audiostank/JRSC%20Install/Dyno.jpg

Fourth Gear Pull: Yes I know it takes forever lol.

10-19-08. I redynoed the car Jan 08 at Philly Dyno Works during JNZs dyno day. Gained 18hp from a cooler air charge. Love my car in the winter, hate it in the summer lol.

I finally also added the suspension this past summer. About time. The car really feels damn good now a days. H&R Race Springs, KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks, SPC Rear Camber Arms, Leo Capaldi Racing front camber plates.

Well I spoke too soon. Was hearing my bearings get louder in the supercharger thursday and friday. Took it off yesterday for insepction. Needless to say its going out for a rebuild and port. Should put me in the 220whp/180wtq range. Time shall see. Just sucks being carless and shed tears seeing it on jackstands. MY FUCUS! Miss it already.

Ford and their SVT division vehicles all have Eaton Superchargers....except the focus. I thought it was necessary to put the small eaton on even though it sucks in performance compared to other options. Also because it is all i can afford since other FI go for $3800 and up lol.:screwy:

that header looks sick, nice work man. I sold a borla exhaust like yours to a friend with a focus, it sounded nice.

Glad you went with the euro-package (whatever ford calls it) wheels, i love them

CLEAN! Love the way it sounds! I'd honestly put back the 5 spoke SVT wheels (best look on the car IMO,) and drop it.

and drop it.

Thats the next process. I cannot afford a nice coilover setup so I need to chose springs and dampers correctly. I am now reading up on every setup i can. I want a nice drop and some slightly stiffer springs. Dont want any fender rub and defenitely dont want to roll the fenders. Then I figure 22mm front sway and a 25mm adjustable rear. So far I am leaning towards TEIN or Skunk2 Springs. Just worried the size drop will cause some rubbing.

HKS83
04-07-2007, 11:34 AM
Stay away from Tein springs. Their rates are way too low for the amount the drop. You'll constantly be on the bump stops. Aren't Skunk2 full coilovers pretty inexpensive? I'd say if you're going to go spring + damper anyways, might as well save up alil more for the coilover setup.

The Stock SVT Dampers can handle performance springs. I cannot afford coilovers. Just too damn expensive, especially since then I would want bigger front and rear sway bars lol.

SVT Springs
F: 129 ibs/in
R: 157 ibs/in
Tien S Tech
F: 157
R: 179
Intrax
F: 225~275
R: 275~325
Skunk2 has performance lowering springs for the SVT Focus.
Front Tender: 120 Front Main: 303
Rear Tender: 103 Rear Main: 358

After springs I believe I want to get H&R 24mm Front Sway and the Steeda Race 28.6mm Rear. Should make the car rotate like a beast. Just need to get the right springs.

That looks really good. It is a shame that Ford killed this. Even bigger blunder is not bringing the Focus RS over to our shores. For a bit, I was pondering getting a Zx3 and getting the Focus Svt suspension kit and installing it since it was so cheap ($300 or so).

SVT Suspension setup can be had now for about $250 lol. Its amazing how prices plummit when your car is no longer made. One to Two years later, companies need to move old product....SCORE!

I am curious..... I thought the SVT Focus had too much compression for FI? Is it really safe for your internals? How much boost does it run? Isn't the high compression the reason Saleen gave the focus No2 instead of a blower?

10:1 Compression on the SVT Focus. Internals are the best part, all forged! Stock Internals are seeing as high as 23 psi at the strip and usually right aroun 19-20 for daily driving. I know one daily driven focus with just turbo and upgraded clutch and flywheel is 326whp and ~310wtq.

As for the saleen focus. I have no clue why they released it early 2005 and into 2006. They had to use Nitrous since they would have had to develop an new FI system since they started their project as the new Duratec 4 cyl were being released. The Roush versions for the most part used the old zetec engines with a nice little turbo on them. I believe Roush might be making a small kit for the duratecs....not sure on it.

The real kick to the balls with the Nitrous Saleen Foci....as soon as you fill the bottle once, they void all warranties on the car. They set it up for nitrous and say dont use it, or void your warranty. :screwy:

Sorry to hear about this man.. Best of luck getting it all put back together. How many miles were on the blower?? Wonder why it went bad?

BTW.. also where did you get the HIDs? Mind are so faded and sun burnt that if the price is right I would consider replacing them..

Keep us updated on the progress.. and again wishing you the best with a quick and more powerful reassembly.
