indeed the 3 coupe is a very nice looking well balanced car, i also like the new x5 and the z4 coupe even though its a little strange. but the rest of the lineup (the 5 series, 7 series, 6 series, x3) all look like they were drawn up by a 13 year old in history class.

1st picture, not bad. Good profile, looks clean. 2nd pic, mazda 3 fo sho. 3rd pic isn't bad, at least the interior looks decently comfortable. Screw the front, and screw the mini fogs. Only thing that makes it seem like a subaru is the TMIC, nothing else even suggests it.

I agree. The profile of the car isn't too bad except for the fact it resembles a Mazda 3 in some ways. Other than that I just don't like the grille, it's way too busy.

The size of the sedan was hurting their chances of winning in the WRC (they got killed in 06), so hatchback is the answer.

Because the WRC car has to be based on a production car, and they wanted something smaller to compete with the other manufacturers (Ford, Peugot, etc....) that have smaller hatchback WRC cars. The size of the sedan was hurting their chances of winning in the WRC (they got killed in 06), so hatchback is the answer.

You should probably do some research before you open your mouth. Back when Subaru was entering the Rally world and had some sucess with the Legacy they realized that they needed to to make a car and design it around what they wanted in a rally car. That's when the Impreza was born back in either 92 or 93 I forget. That's also why in 91 and 92 we had turbo legacy's in the Us. Also that same year I believe is when Mitsubishi designed and built their rally car which obviously is the Evolution. Also when they changed the front in 04' they needed to be more aerodynamic so they changed the front. I'm sure the 06' is more aerodynamic then the 04. As you can see yes they will change the car when they want to make changes to the rally car. That's why (if all the rummors are true) they are coming out with the hatch. They wanna get back to a smaller car like when they were dominant with the GC8 body style.

It's also just like Gm with the corvette C6R. The corvette is really influenced by what Pratt & Miller tells Gm. It usually just depends wether or not GM wants to be cheap or not.

Sadly this is what the new WRX will look like. The pics appeared in the latest MotorTrend from their first-look photoshoot today and I'm not real impressed. They didn't even change the drivetrain and the 5 speed is still carried over. I'm very disappointed....
