My friend with an 03 wrx just bought a TurboXS bov but he didn't do his research. It didn't come with an adapter flange. Can he instal it without it. Is there a write up about how to cut the stock one or something. Sometimes i hate being his friend cause i'm stuck cleaning up his messes.

came with the two weld in rings right? get one welded onto a plate that matches the stock hole. depending on how much of it you gys do yourself should cost maybe $30 TOPS probably far less

OR you can just block off the stock location with said plate and have the bov mounted the conventional way. still requires having the ring welded to a pipe.

OR he could call around to see if someone has the correct part left over

OR he could sell it on ebay and try all over again.

Good luck

I think he should sell it and start over again or just buy a new one that one you know everything will be ok

cant he return it?

Maybe. Could he buy an adapter plate for like $30?

WBR makes an adapter that looks like the TXS, but I don't think the TXS will clamp onto it. It's actually to go from a hose to a WRX style BOV, not the other way around.

The TXS adapter is like $45.

You need the adapter plain and simple. It comes with the triangle shaped plate that mounts to the tmic, as well as the plug to put in the intake hose.
