Wait, that headstone is shaped like a tree??? I didn't know they could do that.

And dark topic btw.

#3 is that really the DOF from the camera or did you go nuts blurring the pic in PS? Not bad, doesn't look like they came from a d50.

yea i dont know why really...i was there for a funeral when i was 4......but like 2 yrs ago (20 yrs later) i was doing a job on the street that is right outside the walls and the whole time i was there i just kept staring out into the place feelin like i knew the place for some reason, so i went for a ride around the place and everything just looked really familiar...aftre bein there for like an hour i just had the weirdest feeling about the place, so im standing in the middle of the place tryin to call my mom and ask her if she knew any reason for the feeling i was havin, she didnt answer...i dropped my phone , and it landed in front of my grandfathers stone........weird ****, ever since anytime im near there i stop by.....my mom says i was his pride and joy.....but sadly i dont even remember him

#4 take 2 steps to the left, crouch down low, keep the headstone as the subject to the far right, lower to f2.8 and make it in b+w. imo  Is #3's blurred effect done with a filter? n/m already answered.

Not bad, just maybe not the best time to go out and shoot. But thats not to say it can't be done.

I would probably like #3 the best if it actually had a shallow DOF and it wasn't just a gausion blur done in post processing. In my experience unless you are very experienced in PS, when you try and create a shallow DOF using a blur it always comes out looking unnatural.

I have thought about doing something like this and going to a local cemetery, but I guess I was afraid of running into families/people morning the death of a loved one while I would just be walking around snapping pics.
