heres a turbo that someone is selling me. he tells me it came of an automatic evo III he just got in from japan. . It is a td04 MFD# 49189-02600. is this a 13g, 15g or what ? I have heard of there being 3 types of 16gs. MHI16g, MHI Evo 3 16g, and the big evo 3 16g. Ive been searching online for a while to find out if this turbo is worth it being that Im running a 14b now . thanx

That is off a JDM 4g63t.... I for the life of me searched all over thinking the HL meant something good, but in the end it's just a 13g.... I had one and sold it... it's much smaller than the 14b I have pics of mine if you wanna see more pics'

HL just means something about the housing, I think it's more compact. My saab has a TD04HL-15T - 5 cm2 turbo and the HL's are popular on volvos as well. So HL really doesn't mean anything special (performance wise anyway.)

Volvo (mitsu) turbo's are not labeled the same as Mitsu (mitsu) turbos if that makes sense, in Saab language the TD04HL would have integrated BOV in the housing, that is obviously not the case. It is definately not a small 16g or else it would be a td05... We know for sure it's a 'g" turbo because of the conpressor blades... The turbo is very similar to the 1st Gen DSM Auto is a 13g-TD04H...

This should answer your question... the last few people seem to have it nailed... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156872

BTW... there is no such thing as an automatic Lancer Evo III.... it is probably from a JDM SpaceWagon automatic with the 4g63t... Here ya go:
