I’m just trying to get a feel for who is out there. Why here is an Auto Technician or qualified automotive tuner?
What do you work on?
How long have you been working?
What kind of certifications do you have?

ASE Certified Master tech. Will get my L1 this year.
Work for a Toyota dealer in SJ. Have been spinning wrenches on domestics and imports for 15 or so years now. I was a fanboy in my younger days, but now I respectany well done, well performing vehicle.
My back hates me. And as cliche as it sounds, I would NOT do it again. I would get a job designing video games or some crap. Not that I don't enjoy what I do, but it takes it's toll on you physically. And sometimes it makes you not want to work on your own stuff.
Could be worse, beats flipping burgers or going to a job I hate to go to every day.

yea i went to exton's UTI. bish of education managers but i made it through.
Mr. Bean can kiss my ass.
I am a student at Penn College, my only certifications right now are safety inspection liscense but no emissions licesne (yet). Also have the refrigerant liscense. Taking 2 ASEs in march (brakes and electrical) And plan on having 5 by end of my education. I only plan on turning wrenches less then 10 years and by then hopefully own my own buissness or be management somewhere (I am going for my Bachelorette degree). I also have a fair amount of Honda specific training done. ALso I noticed your sig says "Lowcal customs" and I always see a guy with the shirt on in Williamsport, PA, just wondering if theres some relation.

yay i get to take my emissions recertification on wed. they really need to make this license last longer than 2 years, im tired of taking the same test over and over again. at least i dont have to pay for it.

Attending WyoTech.
Done with Upholstery/Trim.
Currently attending collision.
Next is refinishing.
Then I have the following extras lined up...
Chassis Fab/ High performance Engines
Street Rod
Applied Service Management (business)
I want to specialize in fabrication and body work LOL. Upholstery is just for some side work? You cant have a great car if only the outside looks good right? haha

i hate doing upholstery work. and that is just replacing seat skins, not fabbing up original stuff.

Not problem against being a tech, but talk to most techs in dealerships, and they will tell you that after a day of working on other peoples rides(mostly pos), you don't want to work on your own. Granted there are a few exceptions out there, but for the most part, a hobby that you start to make money on, eventually becomes just a job.
And there's no replacing me in my office, its too hard finding idiots willing to work in a refinery all the time.
