ok so i was thinking of buying a downpipe tommorow and i heard that if i dony have any stage upgrades ill throw a "no cat" code on my srt4.. will it still throw a code if it has an 02 sensor plugin?

from what i've read use a 02 Sim. for inspection if needed

yeah.. but i mean i dont have an upgraded pcm.. so i mean i wont throw any codes b/c i dont have a stage upgrade

This is not Srt specific but i would say no it is just a DP and as long as you have your cat you should be fine.

ya thats exactly what i thought but on srtforums they said theirs a "not cat" code if you dont have atleast a stage 1 and that sounded ridiculous so i figured id ask

Well most likely! You are just beefing up the pipe from the turbo to the cat. I see no reason your ECU would throw a "No Cat" code. Not to say you won't get a light

P0420 is a "catalytic below threshold".
It's a favorite among the WRX/STi/LGT crowd.

Using a 02 Fouler, you can get the O2 sensor out of the exhaust stream far enough to not throw a p0420.

i threw a p0420 in my legacy, its a 96 completely stock and it just threw that code a few days ago and it wont go away what can i do?

hey man use the fouler method. I run S0 on my SRT with the non-fouler and haven't had a problem. Gimmie a sec to find a link...

Catalytic converter may be on the way out.

At normal running temp (ex. drive around for 10-15 mins so the cat gets nice and hot), get a precat and postcat temp.

Post-cat should be considerable higher temp than before.

just use a spark plug fouler to space the 02 out of the pipe
