Yet another problem..
It seems to have no power after is warms up, it'll have good power and pull hard threw first and second, then third feels like I juss skipped and shifted to 5th. I don't know if somthing is clogged/leaking, or what. But its pissing me off, it juss don't have the power it did before. I have a throttle body gasket on order, but I doubt its that, so any ideas?

Or just put it on an incline without the ebrake and let it slide into the river. That way no one get hurt and he gets a new car.

Def not, my clutch was replaced not even a month ago.
I wish it was that easy, and I can't get rid of it with it driven this way.

Any CELs? Datalogger for the car? Knock sensor replaced recently?

Knock sensor what my next thing, I read that a synthetic oil change can fix it?
No CEL's, but I've never gotten one, even when I blew a plug out of the block, I think its disabled.

heres what i would do
clean the fuel system (injectors may be clogged) do not use that pos fuel injector cleaner either have it done at a shop
check your air filter
check spark plugs
wires
cars are typically faster on cold operations but if any of the factors above are an issue you will notice a dramatic loss in power at normal operating temps.

Juss put a new filter on a week ago, plugs and wires bout a month ago.
If it was injectors, wouldt it be threw all gears?

depends on load, rpm im not saying thats your problem but it could be.

Try running sea foam through the car - it doesn't hurt and if its just some dumb problem with any of the injectors etc it should help clear it out.

My dad told me the same thing, where can I get some, like what stores?

autozone - half through the PCV valve the other in the gas tank. Run the car till it has like a 1/4 of a tank left and then fill the rest of the can in the tank.
And unless you can manipulate the throttle body and pour at the same time you will need another person. Your car WILL stall out when you start pouring.

PCV valve? So pour half in, til I get to bout an quater and then dump the rest in the tank?

You don't pour it in all in one shot, you pour it in slowly or else it will be impossible for the car to maintain itself. You take the hose that connects to the PCV valve, put a funnel on it and start pouring away while someone holds the cars RPMs at like 1800-2000. I dont know what my RPMs were at since I did it by myself.
When you have half a can left put the rest in the gas tank.
Get to a 1/4 tank of gas before you use the sea foam. Also people say it fouls up your plugs so get some before you do it. I dont know if it actually does that since I pulled mine out after I did it and they were alright

Also check the wiring to the cam angle sensor located on the driver's side of the head. Sometimes they get oil in them and make a bad connection.

while were on sensors...where exactly is my speedo cable on the tranny?
Hans_GZP

It's electronic (almost certain) and it is located in the rear part of the trans where the axles go in. The sender unit is run off of the transmission's differential, which drives the axles.

So how do I go bout re connecting it? Or does it need to go on a lift? I was told it was behind the throttle body before?

It doesn't need to be on the lift. Just take off the intake pipe and look down there. You should see it.

It's the black plastic piece by the right side axle in the first picture. It goes through the rear mount on the transmission.

I would check the knock sensor, You may be reading knock and your pulling timing, making the car lack power. Log the car and see whats going on with your fuel as well...i doubt its your injectors
Willdue
02-25-2007, 07:22 PM
Log? Dyno? Is it expensive to fix knock sensors? And like I said, I've reead that synthetic oil change will cure it unless its really bad.

Check the Cat. Is it hard to go over 50mph? does it take full throttle to go on the highway?

As you know there could be numerous things causing this, but the symptoms to me sounds like a clogged Cat.

Well, about the best way to test for a clogged cat is with a pressure gauge.
You hook the gauge into where the front 02 sensor would go, (with the right adaptor), and have the engine sit at idle. Rev the engine up, when you rev the engine up, the pressure should go up slightly, then fall immediatly back down. If it seems to go down sluggish, your cat is plugged.
Or you can remove all doubt of having a clogged cat, and cut the bitch outta there.

Where can i get a pressure gauge? Would it be cheaper to have a place like firestone do it?

If you mean the ticking sounds, that is prolly the lifters chattering, or it could be the injectors chattering.

Ticking is possibly more like a ping from excessive load. Excessive backpressure will cause an engine to ping.

ya bro form what you are describing and form what im reading from everyone else it sound to me like 100% that you have a clogged cat also i would take out the plugs and check the gap 1 more time just t b safe also . I had the same problem in my EvO when i ran race gas in it for the first time I melted the honeycombs in my cat and it was soo bad the if you held the gas to the floor it would not even hit 6000 it would struggle to hit 5000 and 7000 was out of the question so i took off the cat put a test pipe in and she was back to normal so anyway that is what I would do to your car

forgive my post if this has already been covered but, did you check ignition system or cat? If the car's pull drastically changes after its warmed up, think of what the ECU might change once the car hits fully warmed. Sometimes fuel maps change ect ect..
