Alright, I'm working on a senior project for my Mechanical Engineering degree and I'd like to get an idea of what you guys think of various EFI systems (possibly throttle body). I don't have much knowledge regard which ones are best so I'm asking you guys (and girls). I'm planning on junkyarding the parts (low budget) so who makes the best system... Ford, Chevy, double four banger (V8)...? Let me know what you think. This is going into something between a 5.3L and a 6.6L with some power adders.... I'm also thinking about running a mega-squirt. Anyone use one of these before?

Right now I'm leaning towards either a 5.0L Ford setup with the added help of some tiny four bangers, so 2 injectors per cylinder, or maybe a 454 Chevy TBI out of a suburban or something...

Give me thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask questions if it helps you give a recommendation.

I don't follow what you mean by the "best" system? Easiest to tune? If you go with the MS it's all a moot point anyway since the MS does everything.

I've heard a lot of good things about the MS. A fellow Conquest owner with one just put down 325hp and nearly 400 lb-ft to the wheels (that's a turbo 2.6L 4-banger). You can get them as kits or completely assembled. It's all open source, lots of documentation, and fairly easiy to use from what I understand.

BTW, where are you going to school? I received my BSME back in '00 from Rowan.
