Sick sounding BOV's

Hi people. I was wondering if some of you can tell me a BOV that has a real nice sound to it. I want something that can be heard so clear. Tell me the company and the name of the BOV. And if anyone has a video or a sound clip of the BOV they're talking about let me view it. Another thing is I dont want to go broke buying one so nothing like $300 ok. Please i want some real good input on this topic. Help me out! Thanks.

I think the greddy type s has to the worst BOV EVER!!!!!!. Not only is the opening crazy small allowing poor air flow, but it sounds like absolute hell. It's like your car is letting off a girly sneeze.

You want an efective bov???....HKS SSQV, Blitz(what I used on my RX-7), Apexi type R BOV, Vortech BOV, Tial BOV, TurboXS RFL

THe loudest BOV availible has to be the TurboXS RFL (Real F*cking Loud). It's really efficiant but increadibly loud.

I'm not really one for loud BOVs, and this isn't despite how loud it is in the cabin, watch the entire thing and you can barely hear it outside

Wow I really like that one on the supra. And the impreza sounded sick too. I also heard that the HKS SS is really nice. Does anyone else want to get in on this?

Tial with at least 20psi sounds great, my personal choice for best/favorite bov.
Greddy type S is old and played out, everyone runs it, really doesnt sound that good, and it isnt a great bov for more then a basic modded car imo
Turboxs rfl is really loud like everyone already stated

I love that video, always wondered what exact bov is on the supra, i wanna say the hks racing type 2 bov or something along those lines they call it but never figured it out.
I tried quick searching to see if i could find a mod list for that subaru but couldnt come up with anything. Im very curious, my guess would be a tial but some of the sounds it makes, turns me away from it being that

Tial BOV is the best for the money in my opinion. The HKS SSQV is good second runner up. TurboXS BOV's were really never pleasing to me for the fact that you have to shim them with washers. Just my .02.

I run a turbo xs type H, I like it. loud clean flash of air and no rubber diaphram to break. evlegl might still have a vid of my car passing but it was a while back.
if i do another turbo car i'd like to try arc or maybe the apexi

why don't you just get a new intake instead of getting a useless BOV (unless you have an uprgaded turbo). and youll get the BOV sound. K&N TYPHOON will do the trick.

A BOV will vary in intensity depending on how much boost is being run. If you run higher boost the blow off is more violent than if you run like bitch boost (5-6 PSI etc)

Well I'am going to get an intake but I also want a BOV. I will eventually go bigger turbo. And I dont know if this is right but I heard the stock intake on a WRX is just fine until you start to get serious with modding. But thanks I'll look into that intake.

I have a Tial 50mm on my CRX it sounds awesome, maybe I can get you a sound clip of it...The HKS SSQV was the only other one I was considering but since I found the tial at the right price i bought it...it isn't etremely loud but you can hear it and so can cars around you..I am only running 7 psi right now so it may get louder with more boost...but the tial isn't able to resirc...which if you have a maf car you shouldn't realy vent the BOV...i remember in my research some 2.5RS were maf and some where map...map cars could care less if you VTA...so if you are maf I'd say grab an HKS and you can try to VTA but if not you can always grab a resirc kit...just my opinion...if you want to hear the Tial up close maybe we can meet up...

This is a dyno vid of my car from about 2 years ago with Tial BOV on pump. Sound quality isn't the greatest because of the noise level when dynoing though.

All BOVs should sound just like air being released. Ones that sound differently are sacrificing performance at the sake of "sounding cool". You want a BOV to vent as much air as fast as possible. You don't want that air making some stupid "sound" (or vibrating something) as it escapes. Any BOVs that chirp is a sign it's not the greatest. You will never hear one of these on a true race car.

If you want a BOV just for sound and not function I'd vote a greddy bov. If you want function, get a tial or an hks. Hks ssqv bov has a diaphragm that is actually forced shut onder boost and keeps it from leaking under boost. It is said to be good to 29psi of boost. If you plan to run a big turbo or more than 25psi, I'd say tial 50mm BOV is your best bet. It is a high performance, high boost BOV. It is function, not so much a good sounding unit. Hope that is some solid advice for you.

I loved the HKS at first, I had it for liek 6 months, then it got old, and it seemed liek everyone had it. I liked it bc it sounded different then every other normal bov, but then I heard the tial. So I got rid of the hks and got a tial, seriously i think the sound is on a whole nother level than the hks.

i dotn have a sound clip, but just imagine swinging a whip around in a circle a few times then whipping something, thats what it is except faster. lolol...but yeah, if you ever go to the dump/diner meets.. or the scav hunt or sonic meet you can hear mine too if you cant find a sound clip.

The silver and gold inserts are the same just different colors. The purple is a circle insert and it doesn't have the whistle sound. I tried the purple insert on my HKS BOV and it was really quite. I mean I couldn't hear my BOV and it made me nervous that it wasn't working. LoL.. So I put the stock silver one back on the same day.

Thanks for the suggestion on the purple insert.....I know it sounds kinda stupid, but I might get the purple one, so I can change it up between the two once in a while.

Lj I will look into the two blow off valves you posted about and go from there. Im currently running a greddy type rs. I wanted something to run which would be a little louder once I switch over to the aem ems and 3 bar map sensor. GOODBYE MAF SENSOR!!!!!

i rocked the stock hks for like 2 yrs. its VERY loud and got a bit annoying after a while.

then i got the purple insert. i liked that one i lot better. its not as loud, and sounds totally different.

now i have the hks recirculated back into my intake. its very quiet, and all you hear is a slight SWOOSH.
