CS2 isn't anything special over CS. They basically added like 2 filters to my knowledge, none of which I ever would use because I could do it manually anyway.

yea i have the preium addition and the regular addition. But thats really not so bad as far as software costs. I just had to upgrade 3 seats of autoCAD, and decided to also start their subscription plan, total cost was about $10,000. Thats is expsensive.

Adobe Photoshop Elements is a slightly stripped down version but still has all of the most essential features plus some. That is what I would recommend if you are looking to purchase a legit program.
And to remind everyone, no discussion of illegal activities on the forum please.

There is a plugin for GIMP that makes the interface look just like photoshop, which can make it easier for people that are following photoshop tutorials.

CS2 has a much improved interface with regards to RAW files, but that may or may not apply to you. I know it is important to me, but it probably isnt for most. CS3 is right around the corner so if you really are about to take the plunge I would wait for it to be released. Either spend your money there or maybe find an 'old' copy of CS2 on clearance.
