Get those winter mods DONE. In an attempt to help satisfy the tristate areas tuning needs....Xotic Motorsports will be hosting a Dyno tuning day. For directions see our web site or pm me.
Respond to this thread or pm me for a spot asap! spaces will fill up quickly!
i need your name, contact info, car info and mods done to it ( try to be accurate as possible!) and a downpayment. Ill let you know the prices asap but they may vary according to car, mods and ECU reflash software.
Ecutek license is $200 additional - if they already have a ecutek license then you dont have to pay any fees.

Date: either March 23rd and 24th or 30th and 31st. Im thinking we will need at least two days of tuning due to all the cars in the Delaware Valley/tristate vicinity in need of a good tune. Still waiting to hear what is the best date for the tuner.

Tuner: Al of Dyno Flash LLC.
Price: shooting for $380-$450 for a tune from one of the best tuners in the country!

EVO software/reflash: Tech Tom - Ecutek and open source

Subaru software/reflash: Cobb Access port/protune - ecutek - utec - open source

time needed: 1.5-2hours average.

Additional Info to follow.
Any questions please PM me!

Most cars will be about $395 for a dyno flash tune. I remember paying over $400 for a "poor" tune that i drove 3 hours to get so this is on par i think. Still, this is some coin, so make sure we have our mods done and our cars are in good working order so we dont actualy loose money, cause we have to pay the tuner for his time.

haha, Al from DYNOHACK.

Hes a ****ing scumbag. The one and only time I met him, I went with my cousin to Pruven in Conn. Tried burning a toon on his ECU and rendered the car inoperable for 9 ****ing hours. That was a fun day waiting in the cold after Pruven closed while Al went and picked up his kids, ran some errands, took his good old time going to a dealer and getting it reflashed back to stock. No big deal, except the fact that he blamed my cousin because it was the first 04 he ever did. No ****ing apoligy, not even avting like he was sorry, just said " Ill give you a ride to the bus station and you can come back up tomorrow and pick the car up." It was funny how all the other tuning shops he called to get the code for the ecu told him to f*ck-off, wonder why.
Piss poor attitude, bad businessman. He ****s the EVO community over by offering overpriced bull**** "mail-order" tunes. The sheep will keep going to him as long as the lawyer can talk them into it. At least you guys will keep funding his racecar that doesnt even use the stock ecu.

Sorry, but 400 bucks???????? I took my Honda which i had just put a turbo on at the time up to PSI Motorsports. Frank is extremely professional and will tune you car to SAFE horsepower. If you try rasin your boost or whatnot when he's done wih your car, its at your own risk. Like i said, he will tune it SAFE. And it was only 300 bucks. Just my input

Ron,
Al is an excellent tuner with next to zero complaints as far as results are concerned, I can vouch for some of his tunes. He is not as personable as some people would expect him to be and of course he has had some bad days, but when you look at the number of cars running around running excellent times at the track I think you will see that his track record is probably one of the best out there.
Sean is an excellent tuner as well but I don't believe he tunes via techtom or ecuflash , I am pretty sure he only flashes with ECUtek. But if you have an AEM ems, motec, haltech, or technomotive ect. I would look no further then Sean as he is one of the best in not only tuning the standalones, but has been around them enough to figure out the really irratating problems that might show themselves when running theese type of ECU's with many different kinds of cars..
just my .02

I have heard the stories on EVOm about Als personality but have no 1rst hand expierience. I can say I wouldnt worry that your car will blow up in his hands cause it just wont happen. He makes EVOs smile and thats cool with me :-p

DynoFlash Al is a F'ing hack, I wouldn't give that b!tch a single penny for his tune. matter of fact I have several of his crappy maps on my computer that I have D/L'ed from other people's EVOs and replaced with tunes I did. You wouldn't believe how he sets up the timing map. the only reason why you don't hear stories about more EVO's blowing up from his "toons" is because the stock EVO knock protection software is THAT good!

Anyone who is interested in learning how to tune their own car should check out the openecu.org forums and D/L the FREE open source ECUFlash software. For a mear $90.00 you can purchase a Tatric cable, which was developed by the people who pioneered the free ECUFlash software. These guys aren't trying to rip people off by charging hundreds of dollars for 'custom' tunes. Instead they developed the ECUFLash program for the do it yourself enthusiest which can read all the parameters on your EVO/suby ECU and lets you modify them. They don't charge ANYTHING for the program, its 100% free, all you need is a cable to connect your computer to the OBDII port in your car in order to use it. They sell the cable for $90 + shipping, or you can build your own for around $80.00. I choose to buy their cable and support the people who have given such an awesome tool to the EVO/Suby commniuty.

Then for another $25.00 you can get a program called EVOScan, from a guy named 'EVO 4 MAD' which will allow you to log everything your ECU see's at over 200/samples per sec. With these tools, which total only $115.00, and the free ECUFlash program you can modify all of your engine parimeters as many times as you like and tune until your heart is content.

Or if you aren't the 'do it yourself' kind of person go Sean Ivey or Turbo Trix and shell out 300-500 for a custom tune... your choice.

Kudos to you for knowing how to tune and having a nice fast car. Def respectable 1/4 times and mph for so little money spent! Thanks for the input. IT is a business thou, and im sure Al and other tuners get much more money for using ecutec than a "free" program. Ecutec and Cobb do have afew advantages thou. Is it worth it? TO some, maybe.

Not me - sure, if you can get past the overly conservative grandma tunes, the idea that you'd better not dare question him and he'll make you feel like an idiot, despite your background, his ethics issues and the lack of business skill to keep a business afloat...sure. Good luck on that, hope it works out for you.
