I took delivery Friday on my new car, a 2007 Audi A3. Got a nice year end bonus and tax return, so all of that was used for the down payment with no impact to our savings account. And we got 4.9% financing for 4 years. ;)

Anyways, I absolutely love the car. Handles well, adequate power, plenty of space...and quiet. I drive roughly 200 miles a day for work, so the Spec V is a little too much for daily driving. I'll still be driving the Spec v at least once a week though to make sure it gets some drive time. Now it can be more of my all time autocross slut. :D

I'll post up pictures once I get a chance to take some decent ones, but below is a picture of exactly the one we bought, except it has different wheels. Plans for the car are not major, but do include suspension, wheels, tint, and probably an intake and ecu re-flash. That's really about it. I want to keep it quiet and comfortable, but wouldn't mind a bit more power.

As it sits that is a very good looking car. I love the wheels and good choice on the color... black always works.
Good luck with it! I bet it's more comfortable than the Spec-V :)

Just slightly. ;)

And just to repeat, the above isn't my exact car. I havent' had a chance to take any good pics yet. But the one I bought is exactly like the above, but with the S-Line wheels.

Looks good I love the new A3's with the S-Line package. But one of my all time favorite cars which never made it to the states is the 8L (2000-2003) S3coupe.

So does anyone know of any good Audi forums? I've been looking around on audizine.com which seems pretty good. I know they have stuff on vwvortex.com, but I've haven't found it too useful of a site in the past. Just curious if any Audi owners on here had any good suggestions. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm keeping the Spec as my autocross/track slut. And no negative feedback on the Audi. Only QR25's have problems. ;)

congrats Josh, do you have any plans on at least giving this thing a whirl auto-xing? Also are you going to be competing this much in the Philly leaque or are you going to be running with the DC area more this year?

I'll be giving it a few runs here and there. Need to know how it handles at the limit so that I know better how to handle it on the street. I will probably be doing more events with the DC region, but will still run some Ripken events with Philly and Autocrosser's Inc. I hope to see you out there some more! Aaron just recently got his R-compounds mounted up, just need to get a chance to test them out. I think you could really use a set of those yourself.

Sounds good. You'll defiantly see me around this season. I've already picked up a set of dedicated wheels for the season, now all I need to do is get a set of RT-615's for this year. Hopefully I'll be running R compound next season. I'd just like to get a little more seat time in before making the switch. hmm I may even have to plan on making it down for one of the DC events this year....

Not when you pay down half of it up front.

Besides, I don't plan on driving it everyday as I will still drive the Spec V up once a week, and starting in March I'll be working from home one day a week. So that should help keep the miles down a bit. And besides, I'll have the car for a while. No plans on getting rid of it anytime in the next 5-10 years.

And it's a 4 door hatchback, not a wagon!  :-p

I can't keep a car more than 2 or 3 years. You will probably find yourself trading it in a few years down the road...lol.

piknockout
02-15-2007, 03:27 PM
I get the itch every 2 years. This time I made it 4 years, but no trade in. My goal for this one is to keep it civil and quiet, and then in a couple of years we'll trade in her Protege and get a nice car for her to drive around in, then I can start having some more fun with this one. And of course, keeping the Spec for autocross/track duties. :)

piknockout
02-15-2007, 03:28 PM
Also, took some pics today that I'll try to get up. Of course, a black car with this weather and 500 miles in a week doesn't do good things for it. Needless to say, they're very dirty pics.

So on a bad note, after less than a week one of the tires went flat. Going to check it shortly and see if I picked up a nail/screw. Seems to be the case as it's a slow leak. I've got a repair kit here, so no biggie...just annoying.
