Pardon my ignorance as I am trying to learn about my car and FI in general.
I see many threads that talk about peak boost. I just recently installed an AP which I'm told sets peak boost at 16.5 PSI. My question is, during normal driving am i supposed to be hitting that, cause I don't normally get up past 10psi "normally driving". If I do get on it then i do get pretty close to reaching that, most of the time. Just trying to get a proper understanding. When I had my unichip, I was told it was set to the same peak boost level, but I almost never reached it? Could I have an exhaust leak or is what I am describing normal?

You shouldn't be reaching your max boost setting while driving normally.

yeah, cruzing normally or even a little hard you will see maybe 10-11lbs. 16+ under WOT only :)

yea thats what I figured, and I feel slightly embarassed at the some what painstakenly obviousness of the answer, but it was just one of those things that i just wanted to be positive about. I appreciate keepig the fire off my back ;)

God i must drive like a little girl cuz during normal driving i rarely even build any boost at all and when i get on it a little my stock gage might hit .03Kmpa( or what ever it reads it in) or about 5psi. Of course when i stomp on it i hit around 16-18, bu thtis is not very often.

I think the TPS(throttle position sensor) has something to do with that(correct me if I'm wrong). Anywhere below 1/2 throttle is less than 10psi and above is obviously full boost.

haha no I drive the same, which was my initial reasoning for the post, cause if I do hit peak boost, in 3rd or 4th gear, I'm going way fast.

The best part of having good EMS is that most times it only allows full boost at full throttle. Not with my stock ECU and screw-type boost controller.
I have to be careful, or I'll hit fulll boost at 1/4 throttle.

i miss 20psi :(, running at 15 with some issues le sigh...
wait till you get a big turbo and have to break it in for 100 miles out of boost... cry cry

thats not so bad, 100 miles is like 20 miles over my daily commute. ;)
But i get what your saying. :)

I'd like to know if this is true too. It seems that way to me, but I also hardly get into WOT, and hardly ever see peak boost?
