Yea so we're always talking about how many ricey Civic's there are and how its a waste of time, then that small percentage that are actually done right. Umm yea, I'll spare you the details but it wasn't fun; very humbling. Just a reminder: if the Civic has a really raspy motor noise (and not just the fart can), a roll cage, and gutted interior, you probably shouldn't play with it.

I'm looking at it like this: 95% of the modded ones are probably rice and not worth my gas, but 5% are probably really nasty and bite back. Either way, I'm done with them.

I did that to a lot of people with my old hatch.

Teal green, bumpers were losing paint, purple tint, and fart can.

Under the hood: Fully built all motor B20VTEC, somewhere around the 220whp mark.

Did you used to run at Maple Grove? I saw a teal hatch there one time but it had a Jackson Supercharger on it. Not sure what engine it was.

Gutted hatches can weigh less than 1500lbs. 220whp is more than enough to make it scoot.

ive seen all motor civics in the 11's...

and then a turbo civic in the 10's lol

Well, that car was good for mid 12's without any tuning what so ever. So, it moved pretty well.

So what happened? What kind of civic was it?

Well its a road I take daily so I'm pleading the fifth. Basically, I downshifted, he downshifted, and he jumped on my rear like I was standing still. Embarassed enough, I moved over and let him by, where he then went on to give me a nice show and took off in triple digits like he was taking off from a stand still. He got off the same exit at me and I sat at the light behind him where I saw he had no interior and a hefty roll cage. I'm guessing he's local from the exit he took. I might have tried to flag him over but I was on my way to work. If I run into him again I'm going to track him down. I just have to know.

It was the same style hatch lshatch used to have.

I'm hoping there was nitrous involved.

Sleeper civic's definatly are fun. When I had mine I ran into a guy with on STi on I-95 one day. He had no idea what was in store for him. He almost **** a brick when I pulled away from him. I slowed down to try and talk to him but I was running open downpipe so it was useless. There are ALOT of ****y ricey civics out there but the right few can kick ass.

yeah i bet that thing had a bit more more than 220whp.

And why do you just assume that?

I'm sure it was just like every other fast Civic, swap and a turbo. But, an all motor hatch putting what mine put down, is as fast as a swapped/boosted hatch.

everybody underestimates civics, but there are just as many fast civics as there are fast wrx's but u dont see them all the time just like you done see the fast wrx's all the time, a friend of mine jay has had like three civics and all three have been able to break into the 14's even well into the mid to low 14's on the track with bald tires, and neither of them looked like anything good, but civic swaps are becoming very more common and will jump at your ass weather you are spoolling or not he has walked all over my integras not theat i was puttin down massive amounts of power but when he has the same motor as me and i weigh 2500 and he weighs 2100 theres a difference, civics arent slow, most of the fast ones dont even look fast thats what is so deceiving and thats what will catch you off guard I <3 my Honda :supz:

There's a guy out here in my neighborhood with a Civic putting 230 to the wheels. Very respectable. There are a few spots in the powerband where he gives me some real issues.

I have him down low with torque, and up high with overall whp, but in the middle, that 1000 lbs he has on me makes things tough.

The only thing about his car is he has a CF hood, so it's not so much a sleeper.

How much power is your car making?

How much power is your car making?

Wil271/ 242 on a **** tune with some minor mechanical issues. I'm working on straightening that out now via a GReddy e-manage and fixing the things that were wrong.

Once those corrections have been made, I'm going to up the boost a few more psi.

What should your car run?

Because a 230whp all motor Civic should be in the 12's even with full interior and all.

ok so your say a 220whp civic should be in the 12's, sti- stock low 13's.i think he has a txs stg2 sti right? so then it shouldnt just be wasting him how he said. that why i said it has a bit more than 220.

What color was the civic?

My civic probably had about 220-230 to the wheels and it was good for mid to low 13's. But my clutch sucked and I couldnt launch it so if I would have got a new one it would of prob. ran high 12's.

i must agree, i HAD a 94 del sol that ran 10's in the 1/4.....sleeper and a 1/2.....lets put it this way, you need to put some money into a honda in order to get into 10's. My goal with my 2000 Teg is 12.5 N/A

Was the hatch red ? with a guy about 230-240lbs driving it ? theres a red hatch in the 93-95 year range down the philly races all the time he runs a mid 11 fighting for traction on slicks :prayer: . there probably not the best slicks out there but still slicks. This HUGE 280lbs ++ guy and his midd 200lbs brother normally drive it, his name is Bart so ive heard and its sick. could have been him

LSHatch

I've seen the red civic driven by the fat guy, it looks like a piece of ****. IMO, most of us could buy an old Civic and have more then enough cash left over to make it really fast. With that said, I for one rather spend my money on a car that looks good and doesnt look like a car that some kid is pooring every dollar he earns at Pizza Hut into.
