Where do I buy methanol

Does anybody know where i can buy methanol in the south nj/ philly area.

Do you not think this would be just a tad dangerous? 10-20% is all that is in some washer fluids.


100% fuel grade methanol can be purchased through race shops and anyone that is a Sunoco or VP distributor. You can have 5-50g delivered to your door, but you must pay a universal hazmat fee which is almost the price of the fuel itself. I would really like to get a 50g drum and park it in my shed out back.

Prestone deicer washer fluid (the yellow stuff) is IRC 90% methanol.
its the same stuff Ripp mods uses for their "boost juice"

You can go to your local garage and ask them if they have concentrate, then just buy some off of them.

your regular "blue" washer fluid is in fact on average 30%. not good enough. Besides, the dye is what you have to worry about. That **** clogs all sorts of stuff. Thats why the yellow is the way to go.

windshield washer fluids all have additives but a lot of people have had success with them. it is a bit of a risk though in my eyes and it will also clog your filters and lines more quickly because of the impurities in the mix.
vp meth and distilled water is the route i plan to take.
