ford taurus tranny pricing

alright so my friends 93ish ford taurus's tranny went the other week.. he called one place and they said it would be 1800... does anyone know were they can get it done cheaper then that? that seems high.

u can probaly buy a car for 1800 that would be better than a 93 taurus, sounds pretty high of a price anyway

1800 is about average to have a shop do everything for you.

thanks.. im gonna tell him about the ones at the yard.. maybe he'll go for that.. sucks rebuilds are so high but then again i guess you have to factor in taking it out and putting it back in..

if anyone knows a shop who can do it cheaper let me know.. if not i guess its time for something else for him.
