FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK
yup. so that's the flange that was touching my oil pan, heated up the headers and bent them down a bit, either cracked the pan with a pry bar or the headers had already worn through a bit. needless to say i'm freaking pissed right now. taking it to the dealership tomorow to let them replace the oil pan, i'm done with this stupid ass car

put that cardboard down about 2 hours ago, leak isn't crazy but it's obvious. think i'll be okay to drive about 5 miles to the dealership tomorow?

wow that blows but was expecting it. Good luck with the dealer and getting everything fixed
yeah 03 tib gt, they're going to have to take the headers off to get the oil pan out, this is going to be a grand+ easy

meh yea idk. I mean...if thats all it lost in 2 hours, as long as you made sure you were full when you left, you SHOULD be ok... but it would still kinda bug me out to do so.

I'll buy the car from you for....a DOLLAR!
Actually just the Y-pipe has to get taken down....doesn't look that hard... If it was my car I'd do it myself.

nah, if it was the stock exhaust manifold then just the y pipe has to come off, but since i got aftermarket headers you have to remove at least the front header to make room to jimmy the oil pan out

Drew no offense man and I feel bad for you. But honestly what did you think was going to end up happening? Everytime you went to shift your oil pan slammed into that flange. Either way in all honesty I would consider taking it to a smaller local shop. Avoid the dealership at all costs, because they will literally rap you. Not to mention more then likely they will make you put the stock manifold back on the car. Sorry to see this happen, but good luck and keep your head up
any suggestions were to take it besides the dealership?
I second the no dealership. They will charge you $85 to tell you they will not work on it. Go to the dealer in another car, pick up a new oil pan and gasket, and change it yourself. Its not like you have to deal with rusty bolts since you already had the headers off less than a month ago. While you have the whole thing apart, fix the header problem too so this won't happen again.
Did I mention, that sucks.

Nah man drive it with the leak...Just think of it as always having fresh oil in the motor since you'll be putting it in everyday to keep it full :)

Never say you cant do it yourself...Self teaching is the best way IMO....But good luck either way
I know you can do it yourself but your right, in the apartment complex is not the place to do it.

oh don't get me wrong, i'm sure i COULD do it but i live in an apartment and we arn't even allowed to change our oil here, any time i have my car jacked up the security guy tells me to take it elsewere and i end up having to wrench on my car behind the grocery store down the street and that SUCKS esp when it's so cold out
haha, well i'm taking it to my local service station that does my inspections and stuff cause they're all pretty chill, they have no problems working on it with no cat and what not
although, the mechanic was like "what in the **** would you do that for?" when i told him we used a pry bar against the oil pan

Did you try them before when you wanted the flange removed/fixed?

thats what you get for buying a 'race car' hyaundai
thats what you get for buying a 'race car' hyaundai
uhh I am confused on what you are saying here, but none of this was hyundai's fault?
thats what you get for buying a 'race car' hyaundai
are you trying to say that it's hyundais fault I heated up a pry bar and hammered it into my oil pan ? I'm pretty sure if you heat your headers up until they're glowing red inches away from your oil pan and then hammer in a pry bar you will crack the oil pan on any car...
