All for my STI. Thanks to the DSM crowd for such a beautiful turbo. Now I have a lot of work to do to make it fit

All part of the godspeed spec 650R kit. I am porting my TGVs now and will probably reverse the intake manifold since I broke an AC line yesterday. (AC comp needs to be removed to do this and alternator slid over to AC comp original position).

I rarely use it anyways, so I could save some weight, and do some hard work to decrease the IC tubing length drastically. I just hope my hood can close once it is all made.

If anyone close has a car trailer that would like to give me a small lift to Just Rite soon, please let me know. Surely a case of fine beer would be involved and probably a couple future rides once it is tuned.

I don't know if I can rig some temp tubing up so that I can drive my car there. Wait until Rex sees what he will be working on. :finga:

All you need is the turbo now. I'd love to see what an ecotec makes with one of these, besides insane FWD burnouts.

Let me know on the Trailer Kevin. Acutally a guy I work with has a full car trailer, but he lives down by Maple Grove. If you can tow such a heavy trailer and can pick it up, then we are set.

Turbo BTW is a FP3065

I just wish that the damn Suby engines could make as much as the DSMs on it. Right now, the limit seems to be around 520-530whp on a Suby with this turbo, where a DSM is up around 600whp.

I also wish the cams for my car were as cheap as DSMs (4G63 cams =$300 for 2 sticks, STI Cams = $1000+ for 4sticks :thumbdow: ) STI heads also don't flow as much as JDM STI heads.

Jesus....530 whp?? That should still be plenty enough to get you in trouble.

Nice turbo, definitely one of the many I have considered for my next turbo.

I have a few questions though.

That turbo was designed as a bolt on to the DSM manifold, why not go with a true GT35R and a garrett flange since you will need to have a new manifold made anyway? The 3065 uses the smaller GT30R center housing and turbine wheel, I'd think by what your saying, the straight GT35R would have been a better option, which is why I am asking. I don't know subi's at all.

PS. the cheapest decent DSM cams I know of are FP's for about 450 for the pair. HK$ run around 600 for the pair if you can get them.

This was part of a kit that fit everything I already have on the car, headers with special flange/FMIC piping. This kit also doesn't have a wastegate dump pipe as it is plumbed back in. All huge pluss-es to me

It was between this Godspeed Spec 650R kit and the Ultimate Racing GT35R kit as they were the only 2 kits to fit my headers.

I got this for $3200 while UR wants $3600 for theirs.

I don't think I am losing much if anything over a true GT35R kit either as they aren't putting any more power down, but spoll slightly slower (200RPM). Every "big" kit for the STI seems to stuck around 420+whp on pump and 500+whp on C16. There just isn't much variation between them as I think the restriction is left in the cams/heads at that point/ not the turbo.

The exhaust housing also is a work of art, not to mention very light compared to a cast iron piece. 5lbs is 5lbs.

I have a tough couple of weeks ahead of me with all the fabing to do, not to mention the porting. It is also about time to finally get my methanol/water injection working as my tuner finally has the plug-in harness and circuitry ready for my stand-alone ECU.

Awesome choice! You can't go wrong w/anything from FP.
My FP2s should be waiting for me at home tomorrow :D
Can't wait to see what she cranks out for you.

All great reason's to go with FP, that's why I asked.

I wish you the best of luck with it.

How was your service with FP, I have heard nothing but great from them, but every opinion counts to me. I will be making a purchase with them very shortly.

I didn't deal with FP directly as Godspeed handles gathering all of the pieces of the kit. The kit was delayed though about 1 month waiting for the turbo from FP as I think demand has been very high with all the STIs now putting huge turbos on. 65lb Garrett comps are getting harder to come by.

Hopefully my pistons can take at least 1yr of abuse from this turbo.

I plan on running 25psi on 93oct and 50/50 meth water inj.

I just ordered my FP2s last week. Only pain in the ass w/FP is they won't ship to an address that doesn't match the billing address. I wanted them to send my cams directly to my builder who's working the head as we speak. They just wouldn't do it. But supposedly if you use their Ebay store you can ship it wherever you want. So now, as soon as my cams get here today I have to stick them right back in the mail to head down to my builder. Just a PIA.

Fab work is coming along fairly well. You can't believe how much work it was squeezing that pipe in there AND getting the hood to clear. Radiator was relocated, Power steering res relocated, countless brackets and **** hacked, etc. I hope she stays together for a while. Turbo is going out to be powdercoated tomorrow.

Keep us posted as to how you make out. I'm interested in seeing some dyno numbers along with some e.t.'s and trap speeds.

Good luck...Dave
