Boostedfury's 05 SRT 4/28/12 SRT sold, on to the next project!

:wiggle: Well I bought the SRT on November 15, 2005 bone stock with only 10 miles on it. After a year later with a ton of meets and money spent, I put over 19k on the car and love each day I drive it. Heres some pics and a timeline, and I will keep updates as more mods come!:cool:

Than summer came and the real modding began. I had my car dynoed after the AGP WGA install. It was a conservative setting, of 16lbs, and the mods at that time included Upper and Lower Hard Pipes and the Greddy Type S BOV. The car made 242 hp/ 266 tq to the wheels, with using a Dynojet and SAE Corrected Numbers.

As summer progressed, I picked up a Quickwhips Intercooler, AEM Cold Air Intake, and some Progress Lowering Springs. For looks I grabbed some fiberglass S-Style eyelids, and a stubby antenna to make it look clean and agressive.

Also New Rims are expected to come in this week, so updates should follow.

Finally, towards the end of summer I made my first passes at ATCO. I pulled off a best of a 13.7 @102 mph while cutting a 2.1 60ft on all season tires, with no motor mounts, traction bars, or radials, so I was decently pleased. My car should be a mid 13, so that will be my goal before any more power mods are added.

people say for every tenth you get off your 60 its worth 2 in the 1/4. So with a 1.9 or better you should see faster then 13.5

On street tires though just keep working on your launch and you should be there no problem. Do you have solid MM's or traction bars yet? You know as well as I do that when it comes to racing it's all about the driver

unfortuantly that time was with only a 1.9 60' time so it might have possibly been even lower then that if I could gotten my 60' time down more. Sad part was though that earlier in the night I was pulling 2.x 60' times because I wasn't heating the slicks properly, and I still don't think I had the slicks fully heated on my fastest pass. It looks good, at least it does now!

Depending on the brand of the hood, the top coat on it is probably crap (it might just be a Gel coat, and not a clear coat).

It you have the cash, I would take it to a shop and have them put a few coats of a good clear coat on it. If you have ever seen my hood, it is complete garbage after 2 PA winters. Even keeping it waxed didn't do much to protect it. Even if it does have an actual clear coat on it, chances are it won't hold up too long.

Ok Guys mini update.. November 15th was the SRT's 2 year anniversary. It has come a long way in my mind and I still love the car. I just clicked on 31,000 miles tonight and it's still a blast to drive. As you can see some definite improvements over the past year have been made. Well Guys Big News. After going back and forth with what tuning method to choose, and pretty much hating the driveability and stuttering I was getting from my aftermarket wastegate, I took the plunge.. I picked up the SCT Xcal 2 Flash Device and had it dyno tuned at Tillman Speed in Aston, PA. After a little struggle and a full 10 plus hours of tuning, the car pulls like a champ. It has stock driveability back and it is pure fun and awesome..I am thrilled right now! No more overboost codes, or horrible part throttle boost, just power.

CR at Tillman worked his ass off and came up with a great reliable air fuel, and perfect driving manors. It put down 233hp and 296tq:wiggle:....That run was done with the cutout closed, and it was done on a dynojet, SAE CF and smoothing of 5. It also had the capability to put a load on the car(inertia) and that was used to give it more of a street feel and everyday conditions.

I am expected to go back when I am free again and we are gonna do two last pulls exhaust open versus closed and do them with no load bearing on the car, so that will prolly put me in the range of about 250 hp....

what psi are you running? you can get those numbers up quick with more boost I bet. Easily and cheaply with the same crap I have. I spent under $300 for a 43whp gain.

Look up PT Performance, look at their FPR mod, wastegate.. Toss a boost controller on that car and I bet you'll be pulling around 260-280 at around 18-19psi

Ok guys yesterday after I changed my oil I was bored, so I decided my black peeling 2 yr old valve cover needed some TLC and also thought now's the time to change it up and see if I like it. So I sanded it all down and sprayed it this time with Gloss red, and than(the bitch part) sanded down the lettering on the top. LMK what you think good or bad. Once I get extra cash it will be powdercoated the right way, but least I get to see the color idea. :mrgreen:

Ok guys well the last time i went to the track was back in April of 2007 and I cut a personal best e.t. at Cecil County of a 13.6 at 106mph. I than trapped a 107 a week later at ATCO for my highest trap to date. These were all done on my Kumho All Season Tires.
So this brings us to this past Saturday. First run comes up and i decided to run it for the first time with the cutout closed and decided to not even bother touching the tires, so all 4 at 32-33psi pretty much like I drove it there:

So pretty much I reached my first goal I had set out to achieve and that was running a 13.5 with the stock trans/ motor mounts, no tune with conservative boost 16psi spike, and lastly on all season 215/50/17 Kumhos, compared to the likes of a sticky performance tire ala KDW-2 or Azenis RT, or even radials/ slicks.

Let me know what you guys think. I know it still is pretty slow but I am always leary since it is my only car, and I have to keep that in mind when racing it.
