i drive a 2003 v6 mustang, and i want some tips to make it more powerful. i dont know too much about engines, but my stang feels like it's lost power when it comes to going up hills and whatnot. what are some basic things i can try to boost some power???

Get some gears. 4.10's for auto. 3.73s for 5spd.
get a full exhaust, throttle body, and a cold air intake that would be the best bet.
Not to much power to gain from a v6, so just stay simple.
also, new plugs, wires etc.
........turbos are Alot of $$$. and boost on a stock motor isnt the best idea.

gears are the best bang for the buck. that or nitrous.

most of those mods dont add much power lol and with the money you spend on that you could easly buy a turbo kit with tune
turbos on stock motor is fine unless you do something dumb like crank up the boost to an unsafe level
turbo kit and tune 3500, then install labor if he cant do it +1500 ....SO.... $5000 later....
....exhaust, gears, intake - 700 -800 tops. - 1500 installed
and of course its not gonna make power like a turbo, but it will run smoother, get better mpgs, and sound good. Gears will make the best of these simple mods too.

I had a Mustang in the shop that had a pro-charger. He put down close to 300hp. But for the money, you best bet is to trade the car in and get a v8. I see guys with v6 F-bodies dump 1000's into v6's to make them just as quick as base model v8's.
6 in one 1/2 dozen the other.
well considering i have an 03 v6 mustang and i have had intake exaust and 4.10s and i have a turbo kit i know whats better imo
the intake exhaust and 4.10s were a waste of money since they all had to be removed for the turbo and the turbo is great and all but if i could go back in time i would of just got a cobra or mach1 with all the money i spent.
gears are always the best bang for the buck. if you think otherwise your a dumba$$. some people dont have the money for a turbo kit. plus you put all that money into your v6s and you'll still get blown off by a stock cobra. kid just wants alittle more go. if you want anymore than that stop wasting you time and buy a V8 car.

What does the speed governer have to do with anything. It will let the car do say 110mph right. What does it matter what gears or tires are on the car. Get the thing recalibrated for the gears and you'll be fine.

v8 swap
now figure in the speed governor
unless you cut the cable ... and then fail inspections
or get a tuner and get it tuned out
did you get dropped on your head alot as a child??? put down the crack pipe. auto Mustangs can do 120mph in stock trim, 5 speeds even faster. this kids not even asking for more top speed.
