I want someone who knows my engine in and out, and who is able to extract as much power as they possibly can. Someone who is specialized in V-8's will know how to do this as opposed to someone specialized in something else.

You realize number of cylinders is irrelevant. You tune the motor base with valve count and bore size considering compression, octane, and average ambient temperature ;) I could tune that bitch pretty mean simply using math.

PM me where you are located. I'll go over some things with you. My shop has LS2 and LS1 edit and it's worth the drive.
PS I knew exactly what you were talking about when you posted this thread. Don't listen to anyone.

www.harrisspeedworks.com right in warminster pa.
don't go ANYWHERE else in the area with your ls1/ls2. they are the best for those applications PERIOD in this area. they tuned my car, and tntramair's, and a ton of other badass lsx cars in the area.
second street speed= good for tuning a racecar but not for our applications
harris uses hptuners with a wideband btw. you can't just "tune" lsx based cars. you need the proper software and knowledge to do it correctly- it isn't like most other v8's.

hptuners kicks the **** out of ls1 edit. I've used both and i know second street has as well which is why i recommended them, but i would trust sleeperstyle on this one.

RPM not shown so I don't give free **** away :)
Gets ya close enough - then you hit the dyno and watch for advance in timing without power yield. That's the threshold for det.

i have it for 98 and 99 ls1 f-bodies. you need the program and a good working labtop to use it with. the program used to be 500$ but i think it went up to 600$ now i dunno you gotta check.
OR just take the thing to harris, have them tune the a/f- change fan settings and whatever else you want, and be done with it. depends on how far you want to go with the car if you should buy it yourself or not.
don't forget you basically NEED a wideband with the hptuners if you are gonna buy it- so add another 300$ to the price for one.
personally it is the BEST modification i've gotten for my car, but im not afraid to spend hours and hours researching how it works and what does what. you have MORE than enough control to blow the car up quickly.

You gotta REALLY take your time and learn in order to tune your car. I dunno man. I would take somewhere for a dyno tune. Or if you know someone sit side-saddle with them. I returned you PM. But yes, if you're gonna keep the car for a while, eventually a tuning tool is going to be a must. Especially when you run and you can log it.
