So I had to make change, the car was an endless pit of expenses. So finally after two years I decided to get rid of the Z.

I went w/ a 2006 Mit. Lancer Evo. SE.

I hate to be a downer but if the Z was a endless money pit of expenses, dont expect the EVO to be easier on the wallet. Soft tires, a weak stock clutch, Mobil1 oil, and 91 octane gas isn't my idea of cheaper expenses. But look luck with a sick car. Having worked for Mitsu and working on the Evo, Im wanted one since it hit the showroom floors.

Thanks, It was a very cool car it just spent more time in my garage or the shop than I would have liked.

The one thing I do like about 350's compared to EVO's and STI's is the top end speed for one, and there just more of a sexy car. The EVO reminds me of a Sedan on Steroids.

If you are concerned about your warranty, then I would suggest you take it easy on the modifications to the EVO. Otherwise if anything does go wrong, you will have a fun time fighting with the dealer.

Good luck!

Yeah I hear ya, I plan to mostly make this more of a show car. The drop in, a cat-back, and a flash is gonna do it for performance, I dont want this car to turn out like the 350.

Thats the guts to a EVO trans. I did a 5th gear sncro on it. All cash because Mitsu voided the warranty due to basic mods. Or I can show you pics from the 5 different Evos I did trans/t-case combos on. That ACD T-case is about 3000 for just the part. Its about 9000 parts and labor to replace the transmission and t-case on these. They dont take alot of abuse. So in the end, if it isn't stock, it isn't warrantied. Enjoy the new car.

yes, however mine is under warranty so that has nothing to do w/ me thanks for another useless post. go stink up someone elses thread.

I previouly stated the only mods will be Cat-back, and drop in. ( warranty safe )
atleast for performance.

Hope you got that in writing from Mitsu. I had a 2005 RS with only a cat-back and turbo timer and they voided his warranty with only 11000 miles on it. He needed a new T-case and it came out of pocket. Ive seen Evo warranties voided because of uneven tire wear. I tried to wish you luck with the car and just clear up your statement of trading in one money pit for another. It just didnt make sense to me.

EDIT:

Ive stated all of this to you before in your thread about doing performance mods to an Evo. As a certified Mitsu tech and 1 of 2 at my old dealer that was certified for the Evolution, ACD awd system, and the couple other training classes they gave. Im trying to give you help here man. Im not bashing you. If you don't wanna listen then we should all prepare for the next thread you make when you trade in the Evo for something else after this starts breaking.

They take plenty of abuse, but I am sure you are used to seeing lil jhonny whose daddy just bought him an evo at the dealer, coming in because his clutch fried or he broke parts trying to launch a week after learning to drive stick..I am sure you can agree that 90% of the time the dealer denies warranties because the writer is a jackass or the customer is, within reason of course..I have plenty of experience fighting mitsu service from the past, but have never ever had a problem with my evo..Useless? Ok buddy. Let me show you something..

Good trade up! Evo is def a sexy car and way better then the vqueer motor anyday. 350z's shouldn't have a z in there name. There not sexy at all, just chick cars(sorry 350z owners).

I got the 350 two years ago, during that time I reached 367WHP. Soon after that Problems started to occur very, very, frequently. Blown transmission, being keyed, cracked throttle body, retarted electronics, replaces fuel system, multiple tires, front bumper and fenders replaced. Basicallyu anything that could go wrong did.

The Z was an automatic? I hope it wasn't because if it was then you had no business boosting it. Nissan has yet to make an autotrajic worth its wieght in doodoo in any car. And you cant seriously be complaining about tires, and getting your car keyed as if its the Fairlady's fault. But bottom line the further a car is from factory specs the more problems you are going to have, and thats ANY car.

Nice Evo, good luck with it.

91 octane gas isn't making or breaking your pocket...

2.36 for 87 x 12 gal = 28.32
2.44 for 93 x 12 gal = 29.28

if that .96 is hurting you than you should probably just start walking...

Mobil 1 is not that much more expensive than any other Synthetic Oil, maybe 5-6 bucks.

i can't find the article, but i believe it was Sport Compact Car, the Z actually costs more money a year in maintenance costs....

I can't speak for the tires or the clutch, lol....
