So I am in the market for a decently high end video camera. It's use will be for autocrosses primarily, both incar video and from the sidelines.

One particular camera that is sparking my interest is the Canon HV10 (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=14059). It is a high definition camcorder, recording media is miniDV tape. Records in 1080i resolution. That is the awesome feature I really like about it. I also love how small it is, and the ability of video input and audio input.

The other camera that interests me is a JVC Everio GZ-MG505 (http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027714&pathId=119&page=1). It's a hard disc camcorder, but I would use an SD card to record onto in the car. It's a 3CCD camcorder, which sounds really nice, and really interests me. Recording res is only 720x480/ I've had a JVC Everio before and I think they are awesome camcorders.

So you guys who know a thing or two about camcorders, which will have the better image quality and will be better for what I am doing with it. Really I am just interested in the quality of the image. Will the 1.33MPx 3CCD's provide a sharper image then the 2.96MP Hidef CCD on the Canon?

Thanks in advance for the help and info!!

Edit: Also if there is something better in that price range, please feel free to let me know.
