Upgraded to a Rebel XTi. Quite a change from my D70. RaceMpower95 and I went out last night taking pics. Nothing too great. Who's up for a shoot before the weather gets worse?

We were on our way home, and that Nova caught my eye. Dave just happened to park his BMW there.

serious question... is the XTi an upgrade from a D70?

why the switch to Canon?

I was thinking the same thing...why not step up to an 80, it's not THAT much more and you can keep all the lenses.

Nice pics though.

I spent no money and got a camera with a bigger screen, auto-focus capabilities in low light, and 4 more megapixels. Plus I'm always shooting with Dave, and now we can now share Canon lenses. Believe me, I'm a Nikon lover at heart but I couldn't resist the offer.

Keith, live long and prosper.

Sounds like good enough reasons to me.

thats cool, didnt know that it had that much higher resolution, i'll agree on that though. i owned a d70 and didnt have low light focus issues, but i think thats dependant on the lens you're using as well.
all in all its really just personal preference, i hate buying into all of the nikon / canon fanboy crap.
glad you're happy with the new camera... i'll see ya at the monthly photo contest thread ;)

It has this cool feature during focusing in low light, the built in flash flickers to illuminate whatever you are trying to focus on.
