The other day I went to Glazman(spell check?)Subaru for a part and I told my friend that we should check out some Subarus. So we go in and the one guy was all nice and asked if we needed help with anything and I said no were just looking. So then I come across the Legacy Spec B. I had to take a pic of it. So this one noodle comes up to us and hes like are you shopping for cars or are you on a photoshoot. So I start to ask him about the Spec B and i said is this the same trans as the STi and he said its a little diffrent. So I asked how and he had no response. So then I asked what kind of turbo is on the Spec B and he said 250.......? So I figured I kept f***ing with him and he made it known that he wouldnt go down on the price if he did it would only be like $500. This dude was a real dick and i hate it when I go into dealerships the automatically think I cant afford it. Not to brag but I own my own house and I'm 20. I think I'll go back in a friends STi and just f with him a little more. Anyone know much about the Spec B??

I always get disrespected at the Subaru and Mitsubishi dealerships when I ask to test drive the STi and Evolution, WTF?!
I have no problems at BMW test driving an M3 or Audi taking out an S4. Why do they feel that the STi and Evolution are God sends?

I dont know they are bastards and they think all you want is a joy ride. Most people do but when you are serious about a purchase it makes it hard for the people that are in the buying market.

Yea, seriously. I was thinking about purchasing an Evolution back in late 02 early 03 before my M3 until I found I couldn't drive one.

just whatever you do dont go to deleware right there on the border for your Subaru's. they screwed my friends dad over. they considered him adding an exhasut as a modification that voided the warranty, while all other Subaru dealerships siad that that is complete BS and i agree. so just be aware

Your friend was mis-informed then because it is illegal to void an entire warranty for a single part. They may void certain parts of his warranty that would be affected by a new exhaust, but not the entire thing in one shot.

contact sema, they will stick up for modified cars and when dealers try to do illegal activities. Thankfullly my mazda dealership's service manager si a nice guy. I left my mods on when it ook it in to look at my tranny a little bit ago. If he truely wanted to he could have said your intake caused more power than the tranny could handle blah blah blah. Some people ahve been screwed by this. But he said no will fix it for you. SO basically if i put an intake on they wont cover my airbox or if i put exhaust on i lose my warranty on my exhuast. Which im ok with.

Wow, I didn't think it was that bad there. I used to work in parts but also I never really interacted with the sales guys and plus, everyone there knew I was more knowledgable with Subaru's than they were.

When shopping for my wife's WRX Lim. I found the best thing to do was emailing the dealerships. I had emails going with 4 different dealerships and had them bouncing offers back and forth. I had a deal pretty much finalized before even stepping foot into the place. Sticker - 28,900.... paid 25-ish.
I hate dealing with salesmen. Most, like you experienced, age discriminate. My wife and I could both pass for early 20's (we're 33), so we always get "the look". You know it... the, "these kids aren't gonna buy anything" look. Then they choke on their coffee when they see my credit score and I tell them I could pay cash if I wanted to...

All that same crap happened everytime I've looked at an Evo.
In Vegas:
"You can't drive this unless I run a credit check on you. Also, it has a $2000 paint protection on it. Also, blah blah blah"
He kept saying all this crap discouraging me from looking at it. Yet, I pulled up in an S2000, dressed in clothes worth more than his life, and he still gave me crap.
I went to Infiniti, the salesman threw me the keys and said, "be back in about twenty minutes." They were willing to do whatever to get me a new car and let me see if I really liked it.
I have no idea where Subaru or Mitsubishi get this high class status. Hell, I've had nicer sales people at BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. All were friendly and did not care about how old I was.

Yeah... same thing happed a few years ago when we bought an RSX at Acura. We walked in there, were offered drinks food, no pressure test drives, the works. I think at 'upscale' dealerships they have more of a tendency to think people won't bother unless they have the money.

Guys, I will be the first to admit. I am a subaru salesman, and i study my ass off on those cars. Subaru owners/customers know more about subies than any salesman. I know guys that have sold subies for like 6 years an have customers that come in and school them on the cars. Its actually really funny to see that.
