reflash messes w/ your ecu wouldnt they be able to tell you did something when the techs hook it up to the comp. I thought anykind of tuning or reflash messes up your warranty also?

nope 90 % of the time they will never know, infact you can allways throw your stock rom back in the ecu if you have a bad feeling about the dealership you are going through. then put the reflash back in when you get your car back. i keep all of my customers stock definitions in a folder just incase they need to go back to stock for what ever reason.

you can flash it through EcuFlash and then flash it back to stock when you bring it in

Edit: Ray beat me to it

oh no ****.. didnt think of that.. so ur sayin that its possible for the dealership to not even notice you have a tune done? and that you can also reflash your ECU, to stock when u bring it in?

and if so whats needed to go back to stock ECU, and to program it back to the way u had it after the tune?

FYI: The dealer, if very smart, can look at the date the ECU was programmed and the author. If they do so, they will know you flashed it... Yes, the tech would need some serious skills to accomplish this, but it can and has been done, just a word of warning.

Basically there are no modifications you can do that will not void your warranty, even ralliart stuff voids it.

ralliart parts, installed by mitsu....wont void the warranty, problem is that most mitsu dealers will not get the parts for you, aand if they are willing to get the parts then your going to pay out the ass for it

That is not what I was told by every dealer I asked... That, however, does not mean I am wrong.

The warranty is a gray area..I bring my car in and get work done no prob, I have exhaust ect. and you would have to be a dick to have them check for a flash, they dont have time for that..

While I agree that it's the dealerships perrogative, the potential for being denied is there...

yea well it all also depends on the dealership.. Dambrosio has been known for being very picky about there warranty(s) espically on there Srt-4, EVO's..

Most of the time Mitsu will warranty the part itself. Mistu is always looking for a reason to deny warranty work on the Evo. I had a 05 RS come in one day. The trans and t-case were shot. The car only had 11,000 miles on it. They denied the warranty because of the testpipe, cat-back, and uneven tire wear. I hid the fact it was flashed but couldnt do anything about the visual stuff. Aside from a dropin filter and a flash, Mitsu will void your warranty for whatever aftermarket part you put on.

they told me you could do a caat-back just not a turbo-back

How much do you think you could gain w/ Drop in filter, cat-back, and a flash

just the intake and tbe put mine at 291 untuned, i dont think a cat back and flash is really gonna be worth while though, i mean sure youll pick up some power but not near as much as you could be picking up for the same price

i got my car at tom masano in reading, only bc dambrosio couldnt get me a white one at the time....my car has been to dambrosio but hasnt had to be up on a lift or anything yet so im not sure they even noticed it....and yea id say the gain from a catback is prob gonna be a lil less then half of that of turbo back
