ok that kinda sucks. ya gotta get another one, and you have to clock it correctly when you install it.
i actually have a full set of motors/sensors which i'm not really trying to get rid of, but if you're in a bind and want to borrow and then replace later thats ok with me.
and yeah, inlet hose installs blow.

Well, poop on me. How you do install it? I know its as simple as two bolts, but what needs to get done besides that? Thanks for the offer, but the new one will be here tomorrow.

it basically needs to be preloaded. i dont remember how exactly because the ideal way is to mark it before you remove it then put it back on the same way, but if you search for tgv delete on nasioc you can probably find a discussion about clocking the motor and spinning it on into place which will basically preload the rod/sensor. if you dont do that the sensor wont be positioned correctly and you'll get one of those fantastic CELs.

All I could really find is someone saying to turn the motor so the plug is at the 12 o'clock position then turn so the bolts line up. Marking it would of been great, but unfortunately this was not expected.

Well, after hours of searching and emailing I figured out you do not need to pre-load the motor. The sensor is what needs to be preloaded, install plug at 12' position then twist counter clockwise until bolt holes mate up with TGV . The motor gets put straight in. Installed it yesterday, car runs smooth. That inlet makes some cool noises too :wink:
