Funny thing is I just had a the 30,000 mile check up at Beans. 2 days later it started whinning. So it had to be stock fluid.

So you never had it changed? Use only OE fluids for diff/case

it has to be hypoid fluid 90w
i use the hypoid fluid from redline
if you use regular non hypoid gear oil/ transfer case oil kiss th t-case bye bye. i change mine every 6k miles. Beans could have used regular 90w gear oil.

I am by no means trying to argue, but their are numerous threads on this topic discussing the benefits of staying with OEM fluids for TC & Diff.

Ahh evo 8 transfer cases have left a bad taste in my mouth. Well the diff at least I blew 2 Lsd. But deff go with shep he is a awsome guy to deal with. And use redline heavy shock proof gear oil. And that's stright from Shep him self. But seriously call shep and send him your t case the bitch part is gettin it out of the car. Its a pain.

try putting some Redline HEAVYWEIGHT shockproof (pink stuff) in there and see if the noise goes away.
I have 76k miles and over 200 passes on my stock TC w/no problems. I only use Redline Heavyweight shock proof or stock diaqueen fluid. I change it everyother oil change though, sometimes even more frequently if I have been racing it a lot.
if beans didn't void your warrenty maybe you can get it replaced...
BTW I'm right around the corner from you, hit me up.
