A bunch of us DSMers are headed to the track Thursday night if anyone is interested. I haven't checked the weather yet so I have no idea what they're calling for. Should be an interesting night though. It'll be cool to see what Bri can wring out of the HX-35/40 and what Jess can pull w/her recent mods.

Later,

Daytime high of 81. low of 60. Should be some decent track weather. I will be taking the talon down the track for her maiden voyage. Expect to see/hear lots of tire spinning and possibly some flames off of the line.

I'll be there. Gonna go tomorrow night too. It'll be hot tomorrow, but I can get some more tweaking in, gonna run on the DR's tomorrow and the Bogarts on Thurs

Sweet. I'll be sure to look for you and say hi.
You can't miss Bri's (bjc26) car. Look for the caged, red, 1g talon w/enormous fmic. That's us

bad360rt
06-07-2005, 10:33 AM
Caged, huh? Right on. I'll keep an eye out for you guys. I'll be easy to spot too, should be the only blown red Dakota there :D My buddy Chas might come, he was at the meet last week with the other red R/T, he's mid-low 13's. Hopefully I can get back into the 11's this week, we'll see.

97TSi

Yup, caged, fmic, completely tinted out. I'm sure we'll be w/a decent size group of dsms too.

06-07-2005, 11:19 AM
Can't wait to see the R/T in action! I hope we get some more people from here interested in running. Always get plenty of runs in on Thursday nights...

Right on, what are you expecting out of it? I'm heading over tonight, hopefully I can get a few good runs in.

bjc26
06-07-2005, 11:36 AM
13's maybe 12's... Who knows. Really depends on how much I turn up the boost and how much traction I get. I am finishing up welding in my wideband tonight then I'll do some tuning. I really need to invest in some slicks, I want mid-low 11's by the end of this season.

bad360rt
06-07-2005, 11:41 AM
I've got the Wideband Commander in my truck, love it, should have done that a long time ago. I'm shooting for mid 11's as well, maybe a lil quicker, would be nice to get yelled at ;)

Anyone want to place any bets?

Will be out tonight tuning the car. If all goes well, there's a good chance I'll be running Thursday night. If not...I'd like to come watch.

Ut oh.. Cancel the competition. Just kidding, hope you can make it out either way Dave. I would love to see that beast make a couple passes down the track! 10's are knocking on the door.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much tonight, that's why I'm running the DR's. I just want to race and do a lil tweaking. I'm gonna be gone for six weeks, so I've got to get as much racing in now as I can :D Might even go Friday night too, if it's not raining.

What is going on with the weather for Thursday!?!?!

Now they are saying daytime high of 90 and scattered thunderstorms. Where the hell did this come from?? I am not too happy with this! :(

Looks like I won't be running Thursday. Just replaced my transfer case and my driveshaft . We took the car out for some tuning and was melting my tires in 2nd and 3rd gear. Seemed to good to be true. Sure enough...put the car up on my buddy's lift and ran through the gears. What we heard was a nasty clunking sound and noticed the front tires weren't turning at all. Figured it was most likely the center diff. although a friend said the viscous may have welded itself together. Will be pulling the trans. in a few days to see what's up. Will most likely be out to spectate Thursday.

Looks like I wont be making it after all. I hope everyone who makes it out gets some good numbers. I am going to try to make it out later to catch the end of some racing.

I was really hoping to run. :(

Sorry to hear about the trans.

Damn it was freakin hot yesterday! Ran mid 12's most of the day, bunch of 12.46's. Then it started to cool off (into the 70's, lookout LOL), pulled a 12.29@112.65. Pulled back around, waited for the next round of Gambler's to go, then somebody oiled down the track. Always a pain, but it finally gave my truck some time to actually cool down. It paid off, last run of the night, 12.19@114.68, on a crappy 1.76 60' (DR's). If the rain stays away on Thurs, I'll head back out with the Bogarts and a few track tricks and see if I can't get back into the 11's. Damn I can't wait for fall!

Thanks, I'm pretty happy. Hopefully I'll be back in the 11's tomorow with the Bogarts, which will rock, considering my 11.87 was on a 40* night :D Dunno what the track temp was, but it was high 70's and 70% humidity at 11 pm according to the weather channel :thumbdow:

I was gonna say, the humidity probably hurt more than the hot air. I know my car needs a few tuning runs w/the change in weather.

Sorry to hear you broke, what happened? I was there all night, got there about 5, left around 11. My buddy Chas with the red R/T w/chrome wheels was there about half the night. I got 10 runs in last night, couldn't believe it. Six of those were before the Gamblers started tho, amazing for a Tues night.

Did they let you guys/gals line up in the groove or did they have it blocked off with the cone like they typically do? Just wondering if they cater to the drivers any better on Tuesday nights. Thursday nights they block the groove unless you are a n/t or mean business.

Nope, same deal on Tuesday, the groove is for the Gambler's. Maybe Thurs they'll let me in the groove with the 13.5" Hoosiers :supz: Prolly not tho.

Sorry to hear about your car troubles. I've never seen a VC weld itself together. What kind of center diff are you using?

Thanks for the reply. Believe it or not the trans. and the center diff. are bone stock. I've gotten away with murder for the last year and a half. I broke the transfer case about 2 weeks ago. We figured the center diff. may have been damaged at the same time. Steve spoke to Josh last night and he said there was a possibilty that the VC might have welded itself together at that time. Will be pulling the trans. out this weekend to see what's up. I'll keep you posted.

P.S.-I'll P.M. you next time we head to the track to see if your interested in going.
