I was at an nj meet tonight when i overheard a few people talking about class ic car inspection where they dont check emissions, they just check your odometer and it costs $35. The inspection sticker that the guy had was triangular. He said that it doesnt affect insurance or anything. Does anyone have more information on this or know a website that has more info on it. I roughly glanced over the nj dmv page and didnt see anything.

Theres historic, and classic. They are very strick. Your car has to be a certain amount of years old, you cant go over the amount of miles (usually 3000) and you can only drive to car shows. I think it was Grundy Insurance that I called, to qualify you had to be 25 years old to drive the car. You could only put on 3000 miles a year on the car. If you were involved in an accident that you can't prove you were on the way to a car show your screwed they wont cover you. Like if your car gets hit in a WAWA parking lot. Your car has to be old usually 25 years or older, a 95 eclipse wont be covered. Most of these insurance companies look at the driving records of everyone in the house for the last 3 or 5 years I don't remember exactly.
Thats a rough description of collectors car insurance. I know what I said isnt universal for every insurance company. I called about 10 different ones while trying to get my 70 chevelle covered so I know the general idea of things. In my opinion get regular insurance and drive your car where and when you want. Put as many miles on it as you want too. I pay 800 a year for 40,000$ coverage on my car and it covers me for everything.
