I was there in 2003. What do you need to know?

I think I heard the Dutch left so there isn't anymore drinking. Just the 3 per night at the rec tent.

No more civilian clothes. ONLY PT gear in the AOR now. Around when are you going?

Well the ACC had a 90 day tour for SF, that a bunch of our guys were going to do. The three day post rotation was nice, towers, ESRT and then local town patrol.

But I just got this from my commander..

"Folk, opportunities are available for the following locations, please let
Chief XXXX or I know if you want to fill one.. Take care DL LTC

60-90 day tours @ RAF Croughton, Lakenheath, Mildenhall, Incirlik TU, Aviano
IT, Moron Spain

Kadena, Yokota, Misawa, Osan.....

Tours must must be completed by 30 Sep 05. "

Im thinking either Italy or Spain. We wanted Iraq for convoy duty but our retarded maint ppl failed the ORI for us so we have to be back to redo the ORI after 30 Sep.

I just joined a 13 man USAF SF team for convoy/epw/security in Iraq. Still waiting on our packet at the DoD to be accepted but I have a feeling they wont turn it down.

Now why the hell would you do that??

I just got back from Iraq in Jan. I was at LSA Anaconda/Balad AB, it SUCKS you get bombed everyday.

Most of the people that get hurt are people on convoys.

If you do go good luck. I just hope I don't have to do any convoys anytime soon, maybe 5 years from now.

Doesnt the maroon beret mean he is jump-qualified personnel in a airborne unit?
Maroon means Pararescueman in the Chair Force.

Theres alway like 8 billion Sea Cadets at Willow Grove during the summer. They always ate all the jello at the mess hall, that upset me.

That woulda definitely been awesome on a resume. I know the Army officers that go to West Point get excellent jobs when they get out.

My dad is in the Navy and I see how the government has treated him and his 25 years of faithful service. (like sh*t) I just didn't want to have a family and put them through moving just as they settle into a school and with friends. I could barely do it growing up...

ha if i knew wht JSOC is i would tell u but i have no idea i can ask thoughJoint Special Operations Command. IIRC they run the language schools on the east coast at Ft Bragg. I think the Navy is supposed to have the best lang school out west though. Been a while though...I haven't kept up on it since I got out.

The Navy sure doesnt have the best MP school, their training is quite pathetic. Thank god they arent going in and out of Iraq with us.

Theres alway like 8 billion Sea Cadets at Willow Grove during the summer. They always ate all the jello at the mess hall, that upset me.

It's just too bad Willow Grove may be getting BRAC'd.

Me??? Never made into the Army...I'm technically disabled, and I know I can never pass PT (exercise-induced asthma...or as I put it...allergic to exercise).

Somehow I ended up working for the Army anyway...

One of my co-workers...kinda ironic...dropped out of the Coast Guard Academy....after Penn State...ended up working for the Army...

My place isn't getting BRAC'd...we're actually gaining about 700 personnel as a result of the BRAC

Willow Grove isnt getting shutdown as many think. The DoD plans on removing the Navy, Air Force Reserves and ANG, and the Marine helicopter ppl. They plan on using 1/4th of the base which will be filled with reservist Army and Marines.
Why keep the base and not use the three flightlines and long-ass runway is beyond me.

USAF here, i work with 95nracer. I havent been deployed since 2002 though (thank god) and that was to Pakistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I have to say it was actually a really fun TDY. Spent 2003 to 2004 at Kunsan AB, South Korea....does that count for anything? heh.
