Well, i got a red 94 civic ex coupe to replace my wrecked crx about a month ago. A pretty good deal for only $1000 i think.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/11/web/2147000-2147999/2147749_10_full.jpg
I started by cleaning the entire car and turning as much of the red interior back to black.
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/11/web/2147000-2147999/2147749_30_full.jpg
I also installed an led for a vtec light.
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/11/web/2147000-2147999/2147749_31_full.jpg
I also got some choice interior parts that were broken, such as the pop-up cupholders.

While stripping the red spray-paint eyelids off the headlights, the stripper ate at my corners a little, so i got some JDM Amber corners.

This car is in serious need of some tlc, so I made a run to Carquest and picked up some parts. I also installed some NGK spark plug wires i bought off a dude on Tristate.Com.

I've got some body work to do tonight. My car has quarter panel rust.
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/1/web/2125000-2125999/2125418_87_full.jpg
I think i need to look around for a new ex drivers door too. The guy i bought the car from said it got backed into in a parking lot. Trouble is, when he got a new mirror, he fudged up and got a manual one.
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/1/web/2125000-2125999/2125418_90_full.jpg
Also, the window regulator has broken teeth that i thought i gould get fixed cheap. But, the guy at the machine shop said it wouldn't be worth the money in the end.

Little mini update. Tonight i changed out my tired spark plugs for new freshies, and i adjusted my valve lash to within specs. Oh, also, i backed out that little piece of valve cover stud that was broken off in the head. Maybe now my gasket will seal up tight.

Yeah, i was thinking about unhooking that led. I think i hooked it up wrong anyway. I'm gonna get some rims as soon as i get enough money. Probably gonna go with a jdm d15 vtec. Fog lights, fresh coat of paint, maybe a mild auto-x setup. Who knows. lol I need more money.

Today, i went to home depot and got a 4 foot by 3 foot piece of 3/4" mdf cut for me. $15 Then i went to walmart and got a piece of thick black fabric just barely bigger than 4'x3'. $5 Then i went to work with the tape measure and a straight edge and a jig saw and then got out the staple gun. I stretched the fabric over the board and secured it on the backside the whole way around, then i cut a hole for the sub and droped it in.
This is what it looks like after $20 and 2 hours of mild carpentry.

I'm stuck on the last shock. Passenger side rear one. You know the bolt that goes through the bottom of the shock and the lca? Well it didn't want to move after being soaked with wd40 overnight, so i put my weight onto it and the head snapped off. WTF

That's an extreamly common problem. I did the same thing with my civic. Get a carbide bit made for drilling metal and drill the bolt out. Just make sure you drill it stright. Start with a smaller bit and gradually get bigger.
THe only way to take them bolt out without breaking them is with air tools.

I just went on a shopping spree on ebay. Lets see, i got new power window switch door handles since mine now are all crinkly from the old spray paint. I got a new power window motor assembly. I got smoked window vent visors. I got a new energy suspension bushing kit too. I got my aluminum lower control arms in the mail on saturday and hope to have them installed along with the h-brace by friday. And i get my liscense back in about 3 weeks.

I found some krylon cherry red that's a perfect match. I'm gonna go over everything i need to with it.
Well, here's the after shot of the rusted qp. I could have sanded better.

I'm really proud of myself with the work i did on the trunk lid though. You can't really tell that there were 8 holes drilled for a big ass aluminum wing. There was a huge crack down the back of the lid too.

I found what the problem was with all of my dash lights. I pried the dimmer switch out and unpluged it and pluged it back in. All the dash lights came on perfectly. I went to push the switch back into the dash and the lights started to flicker. So, i've got a dimmer switch gone fritzy. At least now i know. All i've got to get is a starter and get my baby inspected.

As you can see from the photo, my window visors came in, but the 3m tape doesn't stick that well, so i'm gonna go today and get some 10 min epoxy glue and they'll never come off. My passenger door window switch came in today, the old one was pretty well mangled. All i still have to wait for is the short shifter crap and my jdm pedals. I'm off to a salvage yard or two to find a starter.
Later.

03-09-2007, 07:24 PM
I got a starter and bolted it in. Started right up. Got the glue setting up right now. My dad is bitching to me about how loud the exhaust is. But it's all good. I get unemployment again in 2 weeks, and i've got plans for this car. It'll be in tip top shape then.

Here's another little twisty update. I'm getting a dynomax super turbo muffler welded on on friday. Dad got to really bitching about how loud my exhaust is and he said he'd buy the muffler for me. I'm getting tired of fighting with him over it so i said sure, whatever. Hey, i need to keep him happy or i don't have a roof over my head.

charliemopps24
03-23-2007, 11:42 AM
Generic 4 wire O2. I'll get them in loom one of these days. Hey, i just pulled out my head unit and guage surround and i opened up the wire loom cause i'm tryin to figure why my head unit wasn't getting any power. Hehe, my cabin harness right behind my climate control is fried. It's burnt to a ****in crisp. I'm peeling wires apart and scraping burnt insulation off of the few good wires i can find. Oh and while cutting off more wire loom, i sliced the **** out of my middle finger. I hope i don't need stitches. Hehe, i wrapped up my finger in a paper towel and wrapped it real tight with electrical tape. Well, i've got to half ass reassemble my dash so it looks right so i can drive into the city. I've got a piss test for sears and an interview with barnes and nobles to go to.
