Okay so a lot has been going on with the calander and I am updating my first post to reflect all this. The minimum order that is standard for the printing companies researched is 100. So, we shall be ordering 100 unless more then that number are interested. I will start a list here, either PM me or reply to this thread if you are 200% sure you are purchasing a calander.

It's a 2006 TST Calander with cars and bewbies...I mean TST girls (they are members from this forum). They will be $18/each for members and I am undecided if I want to charge members outside of TST more.

You have a poll. Just like other site do it. My mom has been in the www.turbobuick.com calendar once. Everyone summits a picture and then people get one vote to pick which car they want. They give about a week for voting. Top 12 get months. and the other are thoughout the calendar.

Me and Alex have some semi decent pics we could submit o the cars together.....though I'd prefer to have a better location. I think I'm going to pay Bryan to take some nice professional shoots of my car when I'm done a few visual things and clean her up. That is going to be my goal tomorrow is to detail the car and do some other stuff.

As I stated originally it doesn't have to be "Girls of TST" if we do not have enough. I like the idea of posting the best picture of your car or a group shot. I think all the pictures submitted should be judged on photo style, scenery/background, and the car model/type. That way we won't have 12 subies, or 4 Evo's, etc. We can do one vehicle for each make. So for example:
January: Whoever was voted best looking STI
February: Whoever was voted the best Spec-V
etc.

P.S. If none of the mods or Bryan want the responsibility of setting it up, I can definately help out or lend a hand. (i.e. talking with the girls and/or forum members interested and getting ideas as to what locatoins would make great shots) And for the laides...you don't have to be naked or wear a bikini. Dress clothes, slacks, just something nice you would wear to a club that's decent would be ok. I wasn't saying we should all go dress like whores and rub ourselves on cars.

every member on the forum has equal ability and opportunity to set something like this up, so i would encourage you to take the lead on this. i'd really like to see more members become proactive with getting stuff done that they want, not waiting for someone else to do it.
if you want me to take the photos i'll be happy to do it, but yeah i'd really like to try and not get in too deep in the organization of the calendar as a whole.

yeah i was also thinking that if people are going to buy this calendar it either has to have really excellent cars in it or really excellent girls in it. if it doesnt have anything to offer someone, why would they want to buy it if they dont know the cars or the girls? this is all assuming that the technical quality of the calendar is competitive with the other options out there.

Well not even that, we could have 11 really decent cars in good scenery. Then save the month of December and have all the *volunteered* TST girls in naughty santa outfits...I am down! But yea, I have a couple ideas of where to get the calender printed but I would definatley have to figure out fund wise how much it would be. First things first though, we have to decide on the format of the calender and get volunteers.

Well I mean, think about it. If we can get something from each state/city so the person viewing the calender knows it's from that state, that would be worth something. For example, a picture in center city philly, or near the boardwalk of NJ, etc. I may even just have members submit pictures and just judge the pictures. This way I won't be running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

but wait, about the calendar... i think that for consistency and quality that all of the photos should be taken fresh. and maybe someone who is good at photoshop would be able to blend a background with a foreground well, but i know that i can personally do it much better if i have the entire scene in front of me to grab the actual photo all at once.
i could really use some good portable studio lighting for all of this, any chance this calendar is going to turn $500+ in profit that can go towards them? doubtful, huh?

You have to remember the cost up front for prints, and the actual calender format.

Actually, I am very happy to see that a lot of people are actually taking my idea seriously. I have had a couple PM's already asking me the format of the pictures and what the models should wear. I encourage anyone who wants to apply to have their pictures and/or models in the calender to just e-mail them to me. I won't start any other threads becuase it would be pointless, then all the members would see what pictures are liable to be picked for the calender.

ha yeah the meets are madness sometimes cause there are so many people and i'm usually trying to keep an eye on the lot or take care of shirts or who knows what, so sorry if i still havent met a bunch of people.

anyways, on topic... sandra can you look into who will print the calendars for us? what our options are with quality and what kind of minimum orders we need to make? i think before we start anything else we need to find out what type of numbers and prices we're going to need to meet to get this done.
getting some sample photos is cool, of cars and girls. they dont need to be anything fancy, just something to put a name to a face (or a car). that way we can figure out who we are dealing with. as far as doing the actual photoshoots i can do one in a few hours, so i can probably get 2 done a week pretty easily, more if we're really pressed for time. thats still a ways off though, we need to figure out the cars and girls we are dealing with first.

Hey Bryan,
I have been looking into it and found a couple different companies who can print the calenders. We just send them 12 pictures and choose the format of the calender and they ship them to us. I feel that we should choose the 12 pictures first that will be in the calender, then get a general consensus of who will definately order one when they are made. The more that are ordered, the cheaper the printing cost will be.

For all the ladies interested, just go out and take pictures/have fun and PM them to me or wrxjrl. I am saving them on my desktop into folders by your names on TST. This way I can just burn the images to cd and pass them around to the other people helping me so we can edit and put finishing touches on them. Thanks again to all who have sent me pictures and PM's so far!

i'm sure we all have different ideas on this, and i'm sure i'm going to sound like a jerk, but i'm thinking that the absolute best looking and most impressive 12 cars should go on the 12 main pages of this calendar. sandra is the boss on this one and i'm sure she'll take other's input, but like i said before, if this calendar doesnt have something really awesome going on with it, nobody is going to buy it.
we cant just sell it to the 12 guys who got their cars in it, ya know? so we'll see how it goes down, but i have a feeling a lot of people are going to be disappointed, cause we're not putting the top 12 posters on the site in there or anything.

Thanks for the idea but I think the group and I pretty much have a format set. It's just whoever wants to take pictures and send them to us, please do so. We choose which vehicles will be in the calander from there. I can tell you that there will be shots where there are two cars, that way we can fit more members' rides into the calander. Some people may have their feelings hurt because their ride will not be picked and I hope this does not discourage anyone from going out, taking shots, and submitting them. If you want jdmwrxwagon, you can always gather a group shot of the wagons yourself and submit it. If we like the shot and vehicles, then we will contact you and the other members for a photo shoot.


Let's not forget about the domestics on here.I didn't mention all 12 months silly. But, if no domestics submit pictures, then they will not be in the calander. Plan and simple.


Please submit more pictures. I have already gotten a few member's car shots. If you want a model on your car and in the calander, you must submit pictures so we can review them. Thank you!

This sounds awesome, but I think i'll need a good photographer and some good lighting to get in the calendar.. bryan? :DThe way it's now set up is that you submit pictures of your vehicle (doesn't have to be pretty) and if the group likes the vehicle, then we set up a day to where you and Bryan will have a photoshoot. The photos people are submitting are "entries". So submit what you have...

Please remember, we are trying to only have one type of model/car per month. This means the calander will be more diverse. One scooby, one Evo, one Camaro, one DSM etc. This way we won't have 9 WRXs/STis and 3 Evos for the whole entire year. I am also trying to make it so that if we have more then model/type of vehicle that we just cannot choose between we will set up group shots (i.e. 4-5 WRX wagons send in pictures...all or most of them are pretty so there would be a group shot set up)

P.S. I have not gotten any shots or sumbissions from the American Muscle/Domestic side of TST. I don't want to exclude you guys, but if you don't send in/submit photos then you will not be included as even an after thought in the calander. I will most likely set up a cut off date for submissions so please enter what pictures you can for review.

Just take your time, I am not even sure when to throw out a cut off date. If you guys want to submit different pictures of your cars individually that's fine. We are going for overall looks and somewhat performance. I have had one person submit at least 10 pictures and I saved them all.

Well, I was going to consider putting set meets/race dates. Like the East Coast Shoot Out, DSM vs. Subaru, RotaryFest, etc. in the calander as in the dates not really the event happening.

You guys need to read like the first 2-3 pages of the thread. I said that this was going to happen so it's fair to everyone. If there is more then one make/model that can't choose between then a nice group shot. I set the due date of August 31, 2005 to submit pictures of your rides. We will provide the models...so whatever you got send it before then. If you miss the date then you are SOL sorry...

Remember guys/gals submissions are due by the end of AUGUST I have had a couple PM's about girls interested in modeling and I have not received any pictures from any of them. Don't worry I am not some psycho butch lesbian and I won't stalk you. The girls wear whatever they are comfortable with (so hope they are comfortable with skimpy outfits j/k). Please don't be shy or think "Oh, my car sucks" think of it this way...if you own one of the few make/models on this forum and not many people submit pictures then your chances are a ton better in getting into the calander.

Ok think of it this way. If you sat here and knew all the cars that made it then what's the point of buying the calander other then to support the forum (which a few would actually do)? You already know the contents so there would logically be no point.

Ps if i ever went into a barnes and noble or somethign like that to buy a calender the first thing i would do to see if i wanted it would be look on the back to see if i like the cars in it... but as i said what do i know. And i would buy it to support the forum.

Haha no that's okay. Members from the forum have volunteered to help me out so I am not stuck with every little detail. When everything was chosen/agreed upon we split up the work. One person notified the members' vehicles that were chosen for the calander, another (me) notified the models, and now we are just figuring out "themes" and locations.
