EDIT: just got your PM.

I would find a donor motor to plop in, just to drive around. While the dead motor is out, build that bish. Pump up the compression a little, beefier rods. a better oil pump ;) , better valvetrain. Build it strong enough for boost of you want to eventually go that route.

Well, I sold my spare shortblock last week, so that's not really an option, but regardless, I'm not going that route. Money saved will go towards the next car.

Hell, if I can get a SOHC neon into the 13s with just a cam and boltons, imagine what I can do with something better ;)

glad we got a few pulls in before the neon went bye bye. also kinda glad we didnt do any more after you got it tuned :lol:

Haha, we'll go again, no worries. I was on the phone for six hours over the last few days with a guy who knows the guy who designed the engines in our cars, so I have some very good information to exploit in the future. :finga:

The next project (not until I graduate) will hopefully be a c5. Until then, the neon will get a new oil pump and rod bearings and will be back at the strip in no time. :mrgreen:
