View Full Version : drews tiburon; now with 100% more boost
I bought this heap-o-**** for about 11 out the door, trading in my daily beater mirage that nearly had to be towed to the dealership. I catch a lot of **** for driving a girl car, but I love it<3. My future plans are to keep it running and stop hitting parked vehicles. I recently lost a battle with a parked car and need to replace my front RH fender and the thing over my rear wheel ( perhapse it's called the rear fender i dont know what the hell ) so I'm probably going to end up selling my n20 setup to pay for it. Damn parked cars jump out from nowere.

I like the car. Only thing I don't like are the stickers all over and the messiness of the wiring in the engine bay. Other than that, looks pretty nice.
Please don't trash talk people when you aren't driving God's chariot either. Different strokes for different folks.

It's just that blue wire that sticks out so much. Try to tuck it under other wiring, zip tie it to things, or even get some black wire loom to cover it. Your engine bay will clean up so much with about ten minutes of work.

i have pullies, IM, p&p plenum, and my headers still havn't gone on. once I get those things done and a good tune i should be looking at just over 200whp and 210lbs of tq and that's were my car will be sitting until i decied if i'm going to supercharge or go with another car
i want your bandaid haha.

thanks, i just bought some wire so i could extend things that are to short to tuck ( like the blue wire for my hid's going from headlight to headlight ) and some shrink wrap + plastic tube stuff to bundle wires, once it's nice and warm i'll try to tuck a little

You should remove that cold air intake now that you have the s/c. They dont't like to fight for air, the shorter the intake pipe the better.
it's short ram, the filter is actualy behind the battery but i'll take that into consideration

i don't need a stupid clutch, once mine goes out ill just cut a hole in my foor and flinstone that ish

i use to have a 03 tib gt-v6 superchaged. nice cars, but dont get the alpine kit. My suggestion would be go with rippmods or nextgen.I had a lot of problems with the alpine kit. that's why I no longer have the car.I was on www.newtiburon.com "tiburlicious"

you were boosting with stock exhaust manifolds? still got those blocks? lol i could use a spare :D
alpine is very reliable, ngm is what i'm using, why in the hell would you recomend ripp to anyone?
bamfnss
03-12-2007, 10:58 PM
ripp was good to me for certain stuff like clutch and what not. The only spare thing I have is the cylinder heads. the engine on the left was the spare engine we were dropping in. The engine on the right was the blown one. I had taken several parts including the manifold off to sell on nt.com I've seen too many people on the blown engine list with alpine including me on newtiburon. I spun a bearing 1 week after install.NGM is the best.At the time I had the car they were just coming out with a lot of the stuff. So that's why I had gone with alpine. There was girl Danielle Hilton with the ripp kit and had no problems. I was pretty darn pleased with it when she took me for a ride.

x a billion. never thought a Tiburon would feel, drive, and just do everything it does do. Especially like the way it sits the driver, very comfortable to drive.
Drew, you need to keep the car and go further with it...

hot damn mid 12 untuned
im thinking he will hit 11s for sure
that's funny i was talking to TC about the logistics of tossing a stealth kit on the sniper, i just didn't want to deal with building another block for when mine goes boom. i think every turbo tib on a stock block has blown, the sc seems the only "safe" way to go
 oh yeah the car might be sold, i got a call within an hour of putting it on auto trader
i'm 99% sure i'm buying an SC300 and swaping in a 2jz
I want the UIM bish... when am I going to get it.
