We just receved the car, and it will be competing in the Neon Racing League

we bough it with with stop tech big brakes kit, 6-point roll cage and forged line wheels (spec race whel). The vid below will explain much more about the car

The first boost stage will be set to 10psi, we are wiring the second stage to a button hidden on the back of the steering wheel. The second stage will be set to 20psi, this will on only hold the boost for as long as you hold the button (because we are using a push buttong instead of a switch), kinda like a push to pass button :wink: shhh dont tell anyone.

we got he seat mounted and lightend the doors up. the doors are very light now but my dads CF door are still lighter

well today i made my own eyelinds because i dont feel like waiting/paying for them.

first i traced the general shape from someone who had them, the transfered that onto the head light using duct tape. then i ran to the store and picked up some cheap vinyl, and then traced the template onto the vinyl and cut it out as well. This is how they look

The fuel cell came today, its a 17 gallon tank with a fram racing fuel filter and a bosch 330 lph fuel pump, oh and a fuel lab fuel pressure regulator

pulled the stock gas tank out

i used the ful pump to drain most of the fuel. I just disconnected the fuel line and ran it to the container

today we wired up the kill switch and the fire supression switch on a very cool cover plate and also got he fuel cell mounted up and ready for all the line to be run.

Made some lexan rear window replacements, I have to give my dad credit for this one. He measured, cut and painted them all by him self, usually he just hangs back and watches my brothers and I fabricate the parts and for being one of the firts thins he has made they turned out awesome.

and we had to re-do the mounting for the fuel cell, so this is what it looks like now.

The suspension came in. It is a Mopar Stage 3 kit that has been gutted and revalved with much more aggressive koni inserts, also it was converted to a two-way adjustable. the reason we went this rout is because there are really no good suspensions (in our price range) for the SRT for a road race aplication. So instead of having a 100% costom shock built we bought the Stage 3 suspension to basically just use the casings so we know it will bold up. the springs havent come in yet but expect pics soon.

These are only a fraction of the pics taken this weekend. Unfortuantly the car spent the majoraty of the time being worked but we still took the second fastes time (non-race). lost to a professionally driven 514whp srt. any was the neon will make its racing debut at Mid-Ohio may 23.

i would only run upto 20 psi max the 1st stage has to be at like 15 psi since it will be running off the wastegate, cant go any lower.

ha yea a AIM dash would be nice, but were on a budget and this is unecessary.

and as for the NASA question, im not sure but we usually do a bunch of events in-between the PRL races.

well the SRT is going out to Nate Dog Creations on saturday for the ten point cage with nascar style door bars.

also as i type the suspension is being custome built to my specs, and mopar stage 3 should be on the way in the next couple days.

i dont have all the info in front of me but we are using mopar stage 3 coilovers (pretty much just the outer casings) are being revalved with koni 8611 inserts, and converting the housing to a 2-way adjustable. for the springs i am using hyperco spring F:0800-250-0650, R:0800-250-0450

oh we might need some one to set up/dial the suspension in before sebring interested?

I can corner weight it anywhere, so we could do it at your house. And then I could do the alignment, but it would be a pain in the ass, so it might be better to take it somewhere. But we can do most of the stuff at your house, just keep me posted on when the car will be ready.

no on SRT fourms they were all pretty much saying the clutch whent in a fairly short amount of time. so add clutch to the list of things to get

4 puck holds more power and torque and drives the same as the 6 puck on the srt. your stock clutch and stage 3 will probbably last you a whole 1 -2 events if lucky.

i thought the car had to run stock boost? are you changing classes? remember stock turbo and stage 3 turbos have many visual differences that can distinguish 1 from the other id hate to see you guys put in all this work and not be able to compete in the class you originally mentioned, of course unless stage 3 is allowed

the seat is now lowered, when the pic was taken. the seat wasn't even bolted down. Now it is perfectly level with the drivers shoulders

well i don't think it was supposed to actuate that early, i think that was why we were only building 5psi of boost.

the AGP wastegate worked out really well on the stock turbo but i dont know what it will be like on the Stage 3 turbo

glad we found out that stock torque settings on the suspension.. dont work.. i mean looking at those pics of the srt at vir.. its scary seeing those wheels gonig from negative .. to sometimes positive camber..(well it looks like that in some of the pics)

plans for the car this winter..revised intake, under belly and rear diffuser(got to fill that huge hole where the stock gas tank was) splitter.. maybe work on a wing.. more aerodynamics stuff for the front of the car...see if we can take anymore wight out of the car and give every component the once over

it would be real nice if we could get the car a bit lower..come on motons..or run 245s instead of 225s

just thought i should add this... trip to sebring.. more testing .. tore the center out of the clutch.. and well pretty much made the starting grid with about 5 min to spare..
