Fast and the Furious for PS2

Without making fun of me for typing "Fast and the Furious," has anyone played this game?? I've heard some good things about it but IGN gave it a pretty bad rating. Feel free to suggest alternatives, as I haven't bought any racing games since GT4, but I'm really interested in if anyone's played that game before I go and spend money.
I know Need for Speed Carbon just came out, but my suitemate has it for Xbox so I'll just watch him play.

I heard carbon really sucked but I only played it for like 2 hours so my own opinion doesnt really mean much but i didnt enjoy it much. In the tracks on the mountains you can drive thru guardrails and game over teh suckage. The drifting is soooo different than underground. That is all I got from it

and about the fast and furious, my cousin had it and the game was ok... he want me 2 sell it on ebay for him so im about to post it unless u want to buy it from me and try it out urself.
