bleeding master cyclinder

its a brand new one and i followed the directions spot on. pedal still goes to the floor. then one time i pushed it to the floor the plug supplied by the company that goes in the inlet for the line shot out and disapeared. i'm lost with this i hate brakes.

what kind of car? did you get a slave cylinder as well? did you bleed the slave cylinder? based on my car you need to keep the reservoir full and bleed through the slave cylinder. i've never put a new empty master in though so you might have to bleed the master and then bleed the slave.
one thing i do know is that you normally want to replace both at the same time or else the one that wasnt replaced may fail shortly after the new one is put in.

So i'm guessing you're bench bleeding the master? You shouldn't need to press the pedal to the floor, you shoudl only use about 3/4 of the total travel of the pedal when bleeding the system. If you are bench bleeding it, the pedal is still going to be soft, the reason for bench bleeding is to make sure that all the air is out of the master cylinder before hooking up the lines.

If you're bleeding the whole system, then keep doing it, there is air somewhere in the system. Just keep going around to each corner in order and make sure you're bleeding them correctly and not letting any air back in the line. Also, you should make sure that all the lines are tight and there aren't any leaks because if there are you will be sucking air into the system and you'll never get them completely bled.

Anyone you have the bench bleed with it off the car. stick it in a vice and fill the resiviour up. You should have lines to coem out of the MC and go back up into the resiviour. Take a screwdriver and plunge the piston on slowly each time. You'll see the air coming out from the lines, keeping doing this until you don't see any air.

oh right, i was so stuck on thinking it was a clutch because thats what i was dealing with recently. dont mind me, i'm like a kid who walked in in the middle of a movie and has no clue whats going on.

alright i'll try taking it back off and bench bleeding it. the resivour is simple to get off so i'll just take that off the fire wall as well. thanx for all the responses see ya all at richboro
