Widebody front end. Looks like COBB's old Conebasher car. Until the truck.

I know the rear is wide body. The front to me still looks like stock fenders, just rolled.

Where did you get that hood vent? I've been looking for one of those for a long time.

That is off the hizzie.

EXACTLY the way I could imagine doing a bugeye...I'd just throw a little more carbon in the mix.

That's a wrc hood my friend, not just a hood vent. I believe it costs like $900 and some change.

BTW, that's not my car. lol

Exactly what I thought of, I love the look of that old car.

I can't tell if I'd prefer it with or without the scoop, but it's definitely a nasty looking bugeye.

Never can go wrong with the Sunken face :)

Proper wheels on the right car. Well done, and good job keeping it clean

what does GTR face mean? yeah that car is sick, but we all know wingless is the hotness. i am not digging the 04-05 scoop though... swap that up for an 02-03 STi scoop and the car is money.

GTR face is probably a reference to the wheels. Meaning the offset and width is something usually seen on a GT-R.

Does anyone know the actual offset and width on those?

And can any of you subaru guys tell me why you aren't running wheels that look and fit anywhere near half as good as those.

Because not many people have big $$ to blow on a wide body just to run wheels with that offset. Subaru offset does not allow big lips.

GTR face means high 20's offset, the wheels have such a deep hub and concaved look.

I agree, that scoop needs to go and be replaced with one from the correct year, but I just love the car.

I am kinda close to that. I have 18x8.5's on a 5x100 which is hard to come by. That ar has completely rolled and stretched front fenders and a custom molded rear wide body, that's why! lol

I want to see if I can squeeze a 18x9.0 on my next wheel, but we will see.

I wasn't really talking about big lips or needing a widebody. I would just like to see more subaru's with better fitting wheels. Most people just seem too conservative with trying to fit stuff on their cars when there's probably a ton of room if you're willing to do a little roll and pull to get some nasty wheels to fit.

05 sti guys sometimes run 18x8.5's and 255's all the way around, that's mean.

I went with 18x8.5's and my wheels should sit flush with the fenders. My car sits very low so I had to roll the fenders just to clear them. For the most part, my wheels will look similar to the wheels shown in these pics.

its an offset issue... most subaru offsets you'll see are between +45 and +53, which is pretty weak. also the front fender flares on sedans especially are way oversized for the track of the car so without a wide wheel or a low offset its hard to fill it out nice.

Wiisass

so why don't you get a wheel with a lower offset or run spacers or something? And are wheels just not available in your bolt pattern wider the an 8.5?

TROLL
11-06-2006, 12:27 AM
i think most people dont go out of the ideal offset range because of the negative effect on wheel bearings. there are a good amount of wheels offered in 8, still a decent amount of nicer ones offered in 8.5, but above that it starts to really thin out.
