HID install help

Wasnt sure where to post this so i figured the electrical section of the board. Now to just stop it here, anyone whos gonna give a lecture on not to put HID's in my stock headlight housings just stop cause i dont care. Many people on this site do things much worse than what i wish to do.

a couple questions are has anyone installed the McCulloch Generation V HID Kit, on their 04 subaru impreza? i got it from www.hidplace.com for a good price and has a whole plug and play harness there are a couple things im not certain on though.

!. How did you get the stock wiring out of the dustcap? im guessing push the rubber out the back and pull out each of the two wires?

2. Did you plug that hole with silicone and drill a different one for the hid bulb wiring to go through, or someone told me they were able to get the hid wiring through that stock hole and use the rubber gasket on the kit to plug it (see pic below)

anyone have thoughts?

i dont have an answer for you but did you try asking the guy at hidplace? he has been really helpful with me in the past and if he knows the answer i'm sure he'll be happy to give it to you. when you figure it out be sure to post it here in case someone else has the same question in the future.

like my questions arent hard its just no ones real helpful i think ill prob just pull out the stock wiring and silicone that hole and drill a new one for the hid wiring

i mean i think i can buy new ones from the dealer anyway

how do you use HID setups in stock housings? arent they (hid housings) designed specifically to reflect the light in the proper place making better viewing as well as not blinding everybody in front of you for 5 miles?

I drillled a new hole in the rear of the large screw on cover for the HID grommet and siliconed the stock hole.
I also hard wired everything in, I couldn't get the silver push in adapter posts to work. Don't worry about the beam being wrong. Mine had a really nice cutoff line like the HID's should.

Did you get the power harness too?

the 04's arent as bad as the 02/03s where they scattered light a ton more

and second most you guys live in pa so youll never see em on the road hah

thats because you look directly at them. they dont bleed out the side as badly as aftermarket HID setups on normal housings.

so to get back at them you'll be one of them? and punish other drivers as well? when you get blinded it's most likely on uneven pavement or from a far distance/looking at them. the housings clean that up as you move closer, hence why they change colors and all of a sudden seem to barely shine. whereas like every integra I see on the road today, they get BRIGHTER and blind more as you get closer until you are next to them and have pretty much no options to be able to see the road.
