EvlEgl's Rolling Chassis...DEFINATLY A work in progress.

This is my third car. My previous car was what got me into the "DSM" scene it was a 95' N/T (Non-Turbo) Eclipse RS, Manual windows, and Automatic. Anyway Once I learned I bought the low end of what was considered a DSM i had forever longed the feeling of AWD and Boost. It took about a year until I felt I was ready to get one as I had heard about all the issues with the turbo models.

I found mine from a member on here (Quasimondo) he listed it for sale on NJDSM (where I saw the ad). Sent him a PM talked to the bank for a loan extension and the rest as they say is history. It came with a Rebuilt 6 Bottom End, Refreshed Head, Small 16g, Buschur 3' Turboback, Dejon Tool UICP/Intake, Keydiver Stage 3 chip, Walbro 255, ACT 2600, 3'GM Maf/translator setup. The drive home was amazing...It rained the whole way...and I mean it ****ing downpured. But I was smiling from ear to ear. The next day I got it registered and Tagged and thats when all hell broke loose.

My best Time to date is a 13.1@102 with a 1.75 Sixty Foot. It's still on the stock sidemount so it has some heatsoaking issues being as I was on 20 psi, It hit 30 counts of knock in 3rd at the track...and pulled timing like a mofo.

I've kept it exactly how I got it...I bought a Pocket Logger some new tires and an AFC which i re sold when it broke...other than that I drove it everyday until it broke a few months back in Philadelphia on the art musem steps.

I'm close to getting it back on its feet, I have a rebuilt trans sitting in my room waiting to go in and I put some new maitnence parts on it to keep it running smooth...Just hoping I can get the trans in soon without any major issues.

Lol...Thanks D. Its not slow...Its not fast. Its a great DD when it runs...I have a habit of driving my cars REALLY hard.

I have plans for it...Fmic'd and DSMlink'd by next year. and a bigger snail I just dunno which one yet ;)

My first request wont be a subarau tho. Theres a silver SS, I mean z28 thats on the top of my hitlist. Other than that its just another peice of **** slow 4 banger Import with a Domestic Nameplate :)

Zerious and I took the ride up to his house after work, in his 300zx, It was on BALD ASS Nitto's, I mean Bald. The ride up was fine and like 1/4 of the ride home we were ****ing around with this Mustang GT with two knuckle brains behind the wheel...Anyway once we hit the turnpike The heavens opened up and I could barely see 10 feet in front of me...Me and Zerious were crusing along just find and a moderate 55-60 ish staying in the same lane...We had to merge where the turnpike goes from the two seprate lanes with the wall between us to no wall at all...I guess he hit a patch of water and the ass end of his Z lifted and did a 180 around the car in the next lane...He then slid across the far right lane in front of another car and at that point corrected the Z and slid to a halt just glancing the guradrail with his right front fender...So basically he did a complete 360 on the turnpike and missed hitting two cars and smacking ass end into the guradrail.

He called me 5 mins down the road. "Dude I almost ate ****"...Yeah it was like a movie.


Anyway Thanks for the goodluck wish...But I have faith it'll all come together how I want...We shouldnt have to worry about the SS/28 come next spring :)

A little Update on the progress.

Yesterday I finished up what I thought would be everything to get it running again. Installed the Stainless Steel Oil Feed Line I got from JNZtuning, New Exhaust Manifold gasket, replaced my TB Gasket and Helicoiled two of my Throttle Body bolts. Changed the oil and added some coolant and prayed for the best.

Went to jump the car and start it and she just cranked and cranked but didnt bite all the way, For about 2 seconds I heard her gurgle and sputter then she died.

The O ring on my Fuel rail fitting went bad and it's leaking fuel, And I need to put on a new coilpack it seems. But its ALOT closer than where I was late last month. The tranny is in along with the transfer case and I have all my new maintenance parts on. I need a few more things to make it run and all should be well in the DSM world.

Here she is in all her glory all buttoned up again. I added the Spark Plug cover and Heat sheild to dress it up a little, Valve cover is getting powdercoated next so it doesnt look as ugly under there.

So The Talon has since been sold Long Long ago...I traded a guy Up North for a 2000 Kawasaki ZX7R Rode that last spring/summer realized I couldn't ride the Bike in the winter and I got caught in the rain a few times and it wasn't fun at all. Sold the Bike for quick cash and bought my Great Grandmoms 1996 Ford Taurus. I've been driving that ever since but I got the Itch to start building another first gen. So I decided to start building a motor for it. I don't have a shell yet because I live in an apartment with my Fiancee and I don't have anywhere to put it so I figured I'll build a Full motor then buy a shell drop it in and go from there.

So for now we're gonna call this the EvlEgl DSM Build Thread.

So far I have a 6 Bolt Block/Head
Valve Cover
FP Race Manifold
Fuel Rail
Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit
Stock Crank Pulley
Ferrea Valves,Guides,Locks and Valve Seals
Brian Crower Springs and Retainers
Power Steering Pump,Turbo Water Pipe, and a CAS.

My goal is 400 AWHP when I'm done...I'm thinking of running the FP 3065 Turbocharger but I'm really undecided yet on what I'm really gonna run. FMIC, Alky Injection, Brian Crower 272 Cams,DSMlink, Forged Rods/Pistons, And I gotta wait till I get my shell to figure out what year transmission I need but I'll be getting one of those Built as well.

The Head is about to be sent off to the Machine shop I just need to order Lifters,Rockers, and the Cams and I'll be set.

I'll be updating this as More stuff comes in

Here's the Block in the trunk of my car...A little rust but nothing a Hone/Bore cant fix :) It came fully assembled Oil Pan/Flywheel and all for 150 Bucks!!! I need pistons/Rods and then That will be sent out as well :)

Its a fiberglass hood...Which is lighter than a stock DSM hood plus the headlights weigh about 10 pounds...This is gonna be a race car lightweight = Faster!!!

It's gonna stay how it sits...with a few subtle changes
