Subwrxkid's 03 Subaru WRX. Turbo questions!

Honestly, I always wanted a WRX since the day they came out. I was a freshman in highschool and I had the option of getting one my Sophmore year but I decided to wait it out and buy an eclipse. My eclipse was all show with custom paint and didn't have any power so it got old quick. At the end of my Senior year I picked up the WRX. After I picked it up I already knew what I wanted to order so the next day I must have spent over $15,000 in parts. I brought the car out for the first time completed my freshman year at college and it looks a little something like this, which I am sure you have all seen before.

Now the car went under a HUGE change, which has taken just about 6-7 months to complete. I am less than 1 week away from bringing it back out on the streets and showing you what I have been doing for the past half a year. Pretty much, the car is ready to be in a couple shoots which I am still debating on which ones I want to take and which ones I would like to pass off. I have a few sponsors who are looking at the car and are very interested in plastering their name all over it, something I am willing to do but again I want to pick the best of the best.

So now that I have an updated mods list and a car that should hit the streets next week, what's next you say? Well the pics should be up very very soon but I am already onto what I want to do next, which I call my winter build. The car needs to be in excess of 450whp and close to 500whp for it to be complete, so that's what I am attacking next. Also, once you shoot with one color it's time for another, so I also plan on changing the color once again, hopefully before spring hits.

Yeah, I am getting re-tuned the 14th on 93 and c16. This setup isn't nothing special, I might make 340whp. lol

I should have the cash for the new motor/turbo shortly. My main priority is going to be getting it back because I haven't driven it for months!

I actually just got into Team Emotion as a probition member for next season.

I plan to hit a couple HIN's, Sema IAS, all the E-town shows, etc. I should have a really good chance at trophies in the subaru mild class, since Billy jumped up to Wild.

He won every show last year, and we both have almost idential setups, just different colors.

Keep it man, get a 240 on top of it... If you just jump to a 240 that doesn't have much if anything done, you will regret it until you get the 240 up the performance level you are at with the WRX...

b4 you get ol hell bent on getting an s13/14/15 make sure you know what your getting your self into

1) you HAVE to have a delay driver
2) start out with a 12-14k budget in mind (parts only)
3) make sure you can drive a rwd
the car is light and quick, i've seen people flip them 2 weeks after they put the sr20 into them

4) snow and rain are not your friends. i had to call ivan couple of time case there was a 1/4" of snow on the ground and my car couldn’t move

5) if you are mechanicaly chalanged, get a turn-key car (matt from importinteligence does these well)

Theres a reason everyone has an SR. Because it makes sense. Engine bolts right in. Parts are plentiful. Bottom end is beefy. Factory turbocharged. RWD. Dozens of proven turbocharger combinations to give you the powerband you desire. Can make way more than enough power than you'll probably need. On stock internals as well. Theres a reason everyone has an SR. Because it makes sense. Engine bolts right in. Parts are plentiful. Bottom end is beefy. Factory turbocharged. RWD. Dozens of proven turbocharger combinations to give you the powerband you desire. Can make way more than enough power than you'll probably need. On stock internals as well. But, if you'd rather use a different engine so you can tell people "hey look I have xxxx engine in my car" then none of that should matter.

i understand that, its an easy swap. thats why i used it as my first swap. im jsut saying, i dont personally know d, but from what i read online, he seems like the type of guy who likes to be different. dont get me wrong, i love my sr, its a strong motor, and parts are everywhere. i ran a 13.5 bone stock with it, its just, im looking for a little more flash. Whenever anyone sees my car they imidiatley ask, you have an sr20? i just want somthing a little different, and surey an RB or a VQ35DE. Who the hell do you know that has a vq35de? puts out 300 hp stock man. that is unique. just my side.. im a full time college student that works a full time job. if i can dig up the money and get an rb26 by the spring, im going to put it in becuase there power will still be there, and the car will be a bit more unique.

My hid was messed up and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, SOOO....I got pissed and didn't pay attention and hit a curb with my front lip pulling into a parking space. Good thing it's not fiberglass or it would have been in pieces, it's just a small crack which can get fixed, but it means I have to spend more money that I don't have.

Oh well, life with this car sucks, to many ****ing problems driving it on the road.

The car looks fantastic and has a great list of mods. It is just unfortunate that most of those mods would be at home on a road course but the car is too fragile (show car) to be subjected to the realm in which it could really thrive. Does a show car need 450whp? Does a dyno plot help with points? I am not being facetious (sp?) as I don't know how the judging works at a real car show.

I give you endless amounts of respect for earning enough money that young in life to be able to work your art on a car like this. When I was fresh out of HS I could barely afford to put gas in my escort. :P

Best of luck at the shows this season. It would be nice to get some recognition for all of the work you have put into the car.

I drive this car on the street to meets, school, and **** with friends. I want power because I like to race, highway, light, track whatever. I'm not into road racing, but if I was I would just tape it up and do it.

It's built for the street, but I sometimes use it to compete at shows.
