Damnit, now i have to step up and spend money on my ride. A friend of mine just got a new car, an 03' wrx. That means i have to soup up my ride to compete with him. I have a 94 civic ex now with i/h/e, which was fitting in fine with the other cars in my crew. My buds had an 02 celica gts, a 03 celica v6, and a 95 integra ls with a small turbo. I've gotta figure out something new to keep my ride up to speed. Any ideas? My z6 is getting a little high in the mileage department, do you think it's worth the $540 to get a jdm d15b vtec? Also, i'm thinking of stealthifying my ride. I have red spray paint on my guage surround, speaker covers, door handles and my A and B pillars. I'm thinking of taking some oven cleaner to them. Turn them back to stock. Maybe a 60 hp fogger shot of nitrous could help me out.

buy a foxbody for around 2.5k for something decent. Do a little motor work under 1k$ and do some other minor mod's like sticky tires, gears, maybe nice rims. That should put you ahead with less money invested...more speed... feel me lol

for a little more than that JDm D15b you could do an LS swap or even a B16...I see both on sale on this site like every other day, I also do custom turbo kits which with the right set up you could boost that z6 and put your car in te low 13s...which should put you on th same page as a wrx...

I don't want my car to be the fastest thing on four wheels, i just want it to have balanced performance and style. The guy i bought the car off of was a big ricer.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2147749here's the cardomain site he made.

No, but do you think i could safely run a 60 shot? It's gotta be reliable as well, so that is why i want to stay d-series. I think ima do alot of diy stuff and there's alot of neglected maintenance i need to do too.

going B series isn't going to make a car unrelibale...a 60 shot will probably be less relibale than a swap, D series turbo would be fun but you will loose some reliablilty but if you run low boost and get a good tune you'd be fine....

Remeber you can only pick 2:
Cheap
Reliable
Fast

I agree. Best way to compete is to swap in a B18B and boost it. Youll make 240whp with a nice tune, and with the weight of your car (even with FWD) you should be able to take the WRX (at least from a roll).

Just boost the Z6. You can easily make 275-300whp on pump gas. I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage. As long as the compression and leakdown check out ok, and you change the oil, you won't have any problems. The method of tuning will determine how long the engine lasts whether it's got 1k or 150k.
