91-94 legacies came with the ej22t turbo engine as an option. 93-01 USDM imprezas were never equipt with a turbo from the factory
strong ass motor that was put in a beat ass car.

I have seen a few random 2.2 t legacy's on autotrader semi recently.
Those early legacy turbos are a collectors car to most of the subie fanatics around here. Nobody wants to get rid of them and the ones that do have them won't stop talking about em. I honestly think they are some pretty cool and rare (which they are) cars, and wouldn't mind having one myself.

The block is the strongest Suby block ever built. It was the only closed deck Subaru block plus it has piston squirters and all. Rotating assembly is junk however. They have a tendency to throw rods / blow pistons around 350-400 crank HP.
Blocks themselves have been/are very rare because most engine builders use them as a base for their big $$/big HP blocks. As a project car though, it generally easier and cheaper to just get a GC8 era imprezza and swap the STI drivetrain into it.
