Hey guys - went home today and wanted to snap pics of my buddies GT40R (40 hot and 40 cold) next to my Holset H1E because I don't think people realize how big the H1E is. Anyway, aside from the GT40R having a 4" intake and H1E being 3", they're very very very similar!

gt40r ftw :) ... the h1e is too big for most gasoline engines imo.

looks like the holset compressor is a good bit smaller but the exhaust side is a good bit bigger. dont really know flow numbers for either and i'm basing this all off what they look like from the outside of course.
regardless, anything that even remotely resembles a GT40 is a serious snail. i kinda already thought of holsets are being pretty intense though... all the ones i've seen or heard about are.

Hey guys, I think my friends turbo is the GT4082R (I think) and flows 58lb/min. If its the GT4088R 54 trim (I am not sure) it would flow 72 lb/min.
Mine flows 0.53 kg/sec, which is 70.1 lb/min.
The Holset does look "skinny" in the cold side but thats because the scroll is off compared to the Garrett, my outlets is faced down so you're looking at the skinniest part, and additionally, the way holset casts their housings, they have a lot of recess, like look how much definition there is in the "scroll".

My gt40r looks a bit bigger then that but it could be the housing I have.

I dunno how your GT40 could be any larger, his is a GT4088R. I think you just want to convince yourself its bigger.

unless you somehow magically bored and stroked your Z to at least a 5.0 liter and somehow made room for the two huge snails in your engine bay. I would say no
